Pak had to plead before the might of Indian Army: Modi

Kanpur, May 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday praised the valour of the Indian Armed forces during Operation Sindoor and said it was because of this that Pakistan had to beg to stop the war. Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of various development projects here, the PM reiterated that India now treats terrorists and the government that supports them alike. He said that Uttar Pradesh is moving at a fast pace towards becoming an Uttam Pradesh today. While referring to Operation Sindoor, he said it has only been postponed and it is not over yet. "The enemy who was pleading during Operation Sindoor should not be under any illusion. This operation is not over yet," he said Modi said, "Our army showed such valour that the Pakistani army was forced to beg and demand to stop the war." The PM said that he salutes this valour of the Indian armed forces again and again from Kanpur, the land of the freedom struggle. He said India has clearly laid down three principles in its fight against terror. "India will give a befitting reply to every terrorist attack, its time, method and conditions will be decided by our forces themselves. India will no longer be afraid of the threat of the nuclear bomb nor will it take any decision based on that. India will look at the master of terror and the government that patronises terrorism with the same eye." He said, "Pakistan's game of state (government) and non-state (outside the government) actors is not going to work anymore. If I say straight in Kanpuriya that the enemy will be killed wherever he is." The PM said, "Our Indian weapons and Brahmos missile have wreaked havoc by entering the enemy's house. We have got this strength from the resolve of self-reliant India. There was a time when India was dependent on other countries for military needs, for its defence. We have started changing those conditions." UNI XC AB SSP

148th batch NDA toppers say family inspired them to reach the top

The four academic toppers — who are part of the landmark 148th course of the National Defence Academy in which the first batch of women cadets graduated on Thursday — all recounted how their inspiration to join the Armed services and excel at the NDA came from their own families. For Division Cadet Captain Shreeti Daksh, who stood first in the Arts stream, the inspiration didn't just come from her father Wing Commander Yogesh Kumar Daksh (Retd) but also from her elder sister who is currently serving in the IAF as Flying Officer. 'It is a great feeling being able to carry forward the family legacy and following the footsteps of my father and elder sister to serve the country.' Shreeti said. Wing Commander Yogesh Kumar Daksh (Retd) said, 'I am feeling very proud that my younger daughter has also made it into the Armed forces. She will soon be joining the Indian Military Academy. I hope and wish that she does great there too.' Shreeti, who had scored 97 per cent marks in Class 10 and 99 percent in Class 12 from Commerce stream with Maths background, is now set to join the Army after she completes her pre-commissioning training at the IMA. Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi stood first in the BTech stream and is now set to lead the Passing Out Parade on Friday. He said that he will be the fourth generation of officers in his family. 'I come from a harcore defence family. I will be joining the Indian Navy. Both my grandfather and father have commanded the third Battalion of the Third Gorkha Rifles. I knew from the beginning that I would be joining the Armed forces.' Udayveer's father, Colonel Aditya Singh Negi, who is a recipient of the prestigious Shaurya Chakra and the Sena Medal said, 'I don't think there can be a prouder moment for parents than seeing their son not only receive a medal but also lead the Passing Out Parade, which is on Friday. My son said he will be a fourth generation officer. So a lot of people ask us why he is joining the Navy and not the Army. So I say that we have relatives in the Army and Air Force but no one in the Navy till now. So he is filling that gap. This is a momentous day for us.' Udayveer's mother Shibani Negi said, 'For our family, the military has been a way of life. My husband is serving in the Infantry and of his 25 years in service, he has been away from the family for more than 10. So people ask, how come you are sending your son to the Armed forces. But I feel it just comes to us. I feel really proud today.' Battalion Cadet Captain Prince Kumar Singh Kushwah, who stood first in the Computer Science stream, said, 'My father is an ex-serviceman and retired as Naib Subedar from the Regiment of Artillery. My mother is a homemaker. I have two older sisters. My eldest is pursuing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, while the other is currently in her first term at the Officers' Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. She's also on her path to joining the Armed Forces. My years at the NDA have taught me many lessons. Because my father was in the Army, there was always a respect for the Armed forces in my mind. I decided to try for NDA when I came to Class 11. In Class 10, secured 97.6 per cent and in Class 12, 96 per cent. I had cleared IIT JEE and NEET both. But those were not the choices. I was sure that I wanted to join the NDA. There was no second thought.' His father Naib Subedar Lal Chand Kushwah (Retd) said, 'This is a very proud moment and a memorable day for us. I want to thank the NDA from the bottom of our hearts. I am also happy that my son will be joining the Army.' Cadet Lucky Kumar stood first in the science stream, who set to join the Air Force said, 'My father is a farmer and mother is a homemaker. My NDA alumnus cousin from the Foxtrot squadron used to tell me stories about the NDA and how it is one of the best military training institutions in the world. That inspired me to join the NDA. I learned a lot at the NDA. For example, I learned swimming at the academy. Before coming here, I had never played hockey in my life. By the end of the sixth term I was the captain of the hockey team and won a trophy.' Entire world is realising strength of country and valour of Indian Armed forces: Tarun Chugh

New Delhi [India], May 22 (ANI): Expressing his views on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first public rally after the success of Operation Sindoor, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said that the entire world has realised the strength of the country and the valour of Indian Armed forces. Tarun Chugh said, 'PM Narendra Modi showed the world and our country's enemies that when Sindoor turns to gun powder, it can avenge the 22 April incident in 22 minutes by demolishing Pakistan's air bases and terror hubs. The entire world is realising the strength of the country and the valour of Indian Armed forces can be seen clearly. India has made it clear that we will not differentiate between terrorists, their masters, and their masters' government in responding with strict action.' He further hit out at the Congress and said that they were insulting the Armed forces by calling the speech of Prime Minister inspired from films. 'Congress leaders are insulting India's brave army by calling their valour filmy dialogues. If you want to listen to India's vigour, listen to it resounding in every street and market of Pakistan. To become the star boy of Pakistani media, to become their blue-eyed boy, Congress leaders have resorted to cheap politics,' he added. Earlier PM Modi on Thursday asserted that India, after Operation Sindoor, made it clear that Pakistan will have to pay a heavy price for every terrorist attack and said that 'there is no blood flowing in Modi's veins, but hot Sindoor.' 'Pakistan has forgotten one thing: that now Modi, the servant of Mother India, is standing here with his head held high. Modi's mind is cool; it stays cool, but Modi's blood is hot. Now there is no blood flowing in Modi's veins, but hot Sindoor. Now there will be neither trade nor talk with Pakistan. If there will be talk, it will only be about Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK),' PM Modi said at a public rally in Bikaner. 'Now India has made it clear... Pakistan will have to pay a heavy price for every terrorist attack. And this price... will be paid by Pakistan's army... will be paid by Pakistan's economy... Ye shodh pratishodh ka khel nahin, ye nyay ka naya swaroop hai, ye Operation Sindoor hai. This is not just an agitation; this is the 'Raudra Roop' of a strong India. Ye Bharat ka naya swaroop hai. Pehle ghar mein ghus ke kiya the vaar, ab seene pe kiya prahar hai. (First, we entered their house and attacked; now we have attacked them on their chests)... This is the policy and the strategy to destroy the fangs of terrorism... This is new India,' PM Modi added. The PM said that those who had shed the blood of innocent Indians had now been accounted for. 'Today, with your blessings and the valour of the country's army, we have all lived up to that pledge. Our government gave a free hand to all three forces... Together, the three forces created such a Chakravyuh that Pakistan was forced to kneel down. Today, from the land of Rajasthan, I want to humbly tell the countrymen that those who had set out to wipe off the Sindoor have been reduced to dust. Those who shed the blood of India have been accounted for every drop. Those who had thought that India would remain silent are hiding in their homes today. Those who were proud of their weapons are buried under a pile of rubble,' he said. Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 in response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. (ANI)

'Remarkable Retaliation': VP Dhankhar Compares Operation Sindoor To Strike On Osama Bin Laden

Agency: Last Updated: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar described the Pahalgam terror attack as the 'deadliest' attack on our civilians since the 2008 Mumbai attack. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the success of Operation Sindoor and likened the destruction of terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir to the killing of Al Qaeda terrorist Osama bin Laden by the US forces in Abbottabad in that country in 2011. Addressing the Annual Convocation of Jaipuria Institute of Management at Bharat Mandapam, Dhankhar congratulated PM Modi and the Armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor and said, 'It was a remarkable retaliation befitting our ethos of peace and tranquility… Bharat has done it and done it to the knowledge of the global community." 'Justice done by Bharat to sindoor in sublimity," he said, highlighting it as India's deepest ever cross-border strike, executed 'carefully, precisely, calibrated" to cause no damage, except to terrorists. Without naming bin Laden, the Vice Presisent said the strikes under Operation Sindoor also took place in May just as on May 2 in 2011 'a global terrorist who planned, supervised, and executed September 11 attack inside the US in 2001, was killed. He was 'dealt with" by the US forces 'similarly". The Vice President described the Pahalgam terror attack as the 'deadliest" attack on our civilians since the 2008 Mumbai attack. He said PM Modi had sent a message from Bihar to the entire global fraternity. 'Those were not empty words, the world has realised. What he said is a reality," he said. In the mechanics of war and fight against terrorism, a new benchmark has been set in which the Indian armed forces targeted JeM at Bahawalpur, deep inside Pakistan territory, and also the LeT base in Muridke. The VP also took a swipe at the Congress leaders who had sought evidence of the surgical strike after the Uri attack. 'No one is asking for proof now. The world has seen and acknowledged, and we have seen the saga of how that country is deeply engrossed in terrorism when coffins are taken with armed forces and political power accompanying them," he said. Earlier, he praised the conducive environment of hope and possibility in the country, due to the government's affirmative policies, which hold promise for young students graduating from colleges. He said, 'Fortunately for you, unlike people of my generation, in the country there is an environment of hope and possibility." 'You all have an enabling eco-system, affirmative government policies that facilitate the fullest exploitation of talent and potential. You can realise your dreams and aspirations," he said. He urged students to continue their learning, as convocation does not mean the end of education. 'Always be a good learner and acquire the skill of self-learning," he said.
