Centre appoints Vikram Singh Malik, Arpitha S as Deputy Secretaries in I&B ministry
Synopsis
The central government has appointed Vikram Singh Malik and Arpitha S as deputy secretaries in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Malik, an IAS officer, will serve a four-year term. Arpitha, an IRS officer, will join the Digital Media wing, also for four years. Both appointments were formalized by the Department of Personnel and Training.
ANI I-B Ministry The Centre on Tuesday appointed two bureaucrats as deputy secretaries in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) through the Central Staffing Scheme. The appointments were formalised through office memorandums issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Vikram Singh Malik, a 2012-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in MIB for a standard four-year tenure. The Ministry of Home Affairs had recommended Malik for central deputation.
In a parallel appointment, the government has named 2015-batch IRS officer Arpitha S as Deputy Secretary in MIB's Digital Media wing, also for a four-year term. The Department of Revenue had recommended Arpitha for central deputation
The DoPT has directed both officers' parent departments to relieve them immediately, with the standard stipulation that they must assume charge within three weeks of the order date. Failure to comply would invoke the Central Staffing Scheme's debarment provisions.
