Gujarat: CRPF jawan kills live-in partner, turns himself in at police station where she was posted as ASI
A woman police officer in Kutch district of Gujarat was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, a CRPF constable, on Friday night. The matter came to light Saturday morning after the man walked into a police station, the same where the victim was posted, and surrendered.
The deceased, Aruna Natu Jadav, was posted as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) at Anjar Police Station in Anjar Division of Kutch (East) police.
On Friday night, Jadav and Dileep Dangachiya were at their home in Anjar when they allegedly had a fight following which the latter strangled the woman to death.
In a statement on Saturday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) of Anjar Division, Mukesh Chaudhary, said, 'Aruna and Dileep came in contact in 2021 through Instagram. They were in a live-in relationship. They had a fight at 10 pm on Friday night. He strangled her to death.'
Chaudhary confirmed that Dangachiya walked into Anjar Police station, the same place where Jadav was posted, on Saturday and surrendered himself to the officer of duty. Police are now investigating the matter.
