I'm striving to be like my mother and not like my dad. It feels like a new chapter." Arya Babbar Stresses The Need For Sustainability On World Environment Day
Last Updated: Arya said he has eliminated single-use plastics from his daily life, including plastic bottles, supermarket bags, and straws On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, several television celebrities have been opening up about their efforts to live more sustainably. Among them is Arya Babbar, who plays Kalikant Thakur in Jagriti: Ek Nayi Subah. The actor has made conscious lifestyle changes to reduce his environmental impact, from eliminating single-use plastics to switching to eco-friendly alternatives and encouraging those around him to do the same. Arya Babbar told ETimes, 'During a trip last year, I reached the hilltop, which should have been pristine. Instead of clean air and untouched beauty, I was greeted by plastic wrappers and discarded bottles. That stayed with me. It made me realise that even the remotest corners of nature aren't safe from the reach of our waste. Since then, I've promised myself to be part of the solution." Commenting on the steps he has taken, Arya shared that he has completely eliminated single-use plastics from his daily routine—including plastic bottles, supermarket bags, and straws. To further reduce waste, he now uses compostable liners at home and carries a solid shampoo bar while travelling, avoiding plastic packaging even on the go. The actor added, 'It's not about overhauling your life overnight's about making thoughtful choices that align with a cleaner future. I regularly have conversations with friends and family about the little swaps they can make. ' To him, it's about being conscious, consistent, and a part of something larger than oneself. Every small move counts, as Aarya believes that if we keep waiting for change to arrive from somewhere else, we will be waiting much too long. Arya Babbar plays a prominent role in Jagriti: Ek Nayi Subah, a gripping tale centred around a member of the marginalized Chitta community who dares to defy age-old traditions in a bid to empower her people. Her journey pits her against a powerful leader with mafia connections, setting the stage for a high-stakes battle for change. The show also stars Rachana Mistry, Sagar Parekh, and Vijendra Kumaria in lead roles. First Published: June 05, 2025, 17:34 IST

This actor and his wife were superstars in Bollywood, but their son and daughter became huge flops, their names are...
In today's era of Bollywood, the industry has seen various actors making their way, and the majority of them are from a background of actors and actresses. The word nepotism is not new in the industry, and there has been a long-form debate on the same. However, there are times when daughters and sons of famous superstars fail to impress the audience despite their parents being fan favourites. A similar case happened with the actors we are going to discuss today. These two actors have been the most celebrated of their times. However, their kids couldn't do big on the big screen. The actors we are talking about are the iconic stars Raj Babbar and Nadira Babbar. These two actors have been a part of hit films such as Nikaah, Insaaf Ka Tarazu, Prem Geet, Ghayal, Samandar, Khandaani, Jai Ho. While both these actors are iconic figures in the Bollywood industry, their kids — Juhi Babbar and Arya Babbar — never succeeded. Juhi Babbar's Magic Did Not Work The elder daughter of Raj and Nadira Babbar — Juhi Babbar — worked in Bollywood and TV. She featured in small roles in movies like Reflection, Aiyaary, Faraaz, Kaash Aap Hamare Hote. However, her films never did big on the big screens, and neither was her performance liked by the audience. As a result, the tag of a non-performer came to her despite coming from a house of top actors. Arya Babbar Gave a Shot but Failed Raj's son Arya Babbar made his debut in 2002 with the film Ab Ke Baras. The movie turned out to be a huge flop and could not even recover its budget. Over the years, Arya appeared in movies like Jatts in Golmaal, Naughty Jat, Paapi Ek Satya Katha, however, all of them were huge flops. As a result, Arya was also not liked as an actor by the audience. However, it was just Prateik Babbar, the son of Raj Babbar and Smita Patil, who was able to establish himself as an actor. He appeared in small but important roles in films like Brahmastra, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Mulk, Baaghi-2, Dhobi Ghat, Chhichhore. His acting was appreciated, but he was mostly limited to supporting roles.
