Mother of pilot killed in Uttarakhand helicopter crash dies on his 'terahvi'
Mother of Rajveer Singh Chauhan, the pilot who lost his life in the recent Uttarakhand helicopter crash, died on the day of his 'terahvi' (thirteenth-day ritual) after suffering a heart attack. Vijay Laxmi Chauhan could not bear the shock of losing her son and died at their home in Jaipur's Shastri members said she had been deeply distressed since the accident and her health worsened rapidly after the final rites for her son. She was cremated soon after her Singh Chauhan, a former Indian Army pilot, had joined Aryan Aviation Private Ltd in October 2024. He was flying a Bell 407 helicopter that crashed near Gaurikund in Uttarakhand's forest area on June 15. The helicopter, carrying six passengers from Kedarnath Dham to Guptkashi, reportedly veered off course due to harsh weather and poor visibility, killing all seven people on board. The helicopter took off at 5.17 am from Kedarnath, heading for Guptkashi with passengers on board. Officials said it likely strayed off course due to severe weather and poor visibility in the valley, which contributed to the on board the ill-fated helicopter included pilot Rajveer, Vikram Rawat, Vinod, Trishti Singh, Rajkuma, Shraddha, and 10-year-old was Uttarakhand's fifth helicopter crash in six weeks, raising fresh concerns about flight safety during pilgrim operations in the Himalayan extensive experience in flying missions over difficult terrain made him a trusted pilot for high-altitude routes. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief over the incident. He said, "This morning, a helicopter crashed due to bad weather. I pray to God for those who lost their lives. Army veteran pilot who died in Kedarnath helicopter crash cremated
The last rites ceremony of retired lieutenant colonel Rajveer Singh Chauhan, the pilot who lost his life in the recent Kedarnath helicopter crash, were performed on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) in Jaipur. The funeral procession was led by Singh's wife Deepika, a lieutenant colonel in the Army. She held her husband's portrait close to her heart as people raised slogans of "Rajveer Singh Amar Rahein" (Long live Rajveer Singh). A large number of people, including relatives, friends and fellow officers, attended the funeral. The coffin was placed outside their Shastri Nagar residence where floral tributes were offered. Sainik Kalyan (soldier welfare) Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore also reached Chauhan's residence and paid floral tribute. Chauhan served in the Indian Army for over 15 years. He had been working as a pilot with Aryan Aviation Private Ltd since October 2024. Chauhan (37) was the captain of the Bell 407 helicopter that crashed on Sunday (June 15, 2025) morning near Gaurikund in Uttarakhand. Besides him, six people were killed in the accident.

Case registered against private helicopter firm
Dehradun: A case has been registered against helicopter service operating firm Aryan Aviation Private Ltd for alleged negligence in connection with the chopper crash near Kedarnath on Sunday which killed all seven people on board, including a two-year-old child and the pilot. The Bell 407 helicopter which crashed due to bad weather in the forests of Gauri Mai Khark between Gaurikund and Triyuginarayan belonged to Aryan Aviation Private Limited. A case has been registered against Aryan Aviation's accountable manager Kaushik Pathak and manager Vikas Tomar at Sonprayag police station under BNS and section 10 of the Aircraft Act 1934, police said. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Revenue police Sub Inspector Rajiv Nakholia posted at Phata, a small town located near the Himalayan temple. The complaint states that Aryan Aviation was allotted the first slot from 6 am to 7 am for helicopter operations on June 15, while this accident happened before that at 5:30 am. In addition, despite the sky being cloudy and foggy since morning, the weather conditions were not checked before the helicopter took off. The complaint states that the SOP issued by the DGCA and Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority was ignored while the company managers knew very well that doing so could cause loss of life and property. By doing so, Aryan Aviation Pvt Ltd and its managers showed gross negligence towards their responsibilities, due to which the crash occurred, the complaint added.

2 Senior Officials Of Kedarnath Helicopter Firm Charged For Negligence After Crash
Dehradun: Two senior officials of helicopter service operating firm Aryan Aviation Private Ltd have been booked for alleged negligence leading to the chopper crash near Kedarnath that killed all seven on board, including a two-year-old and the pilot. The Bell 407 helicopter that crashed on Sunday due to bad weather in the forests of Gauri Mai Khark between Gaurikund and Triyuginarayan belonged to Aryan Aviation Private Limited. A case has been registered against Aryan Aviation's accountable manager Kaushik Pathak and manager Vikas Tomar at Sonprayag police station under Section 105 of the BNS (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and Section 10 of the Aircraft Act 1934 which deals with penalties for violating rules made under the Act, particularly those related to the carriage of dangerous goods or providing false information about them, police said. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Revenue Police Sub Inspector Rajiv Nakholia posted at Phata, a small town located near the Himalayan temple. The complaint states that Aryan Aviation was allotted the first slot from 6 am to 7 am for helicopter operations on June 15, while this accident happened before that at 5.30 am. In addition, despite the sky being cloudy and foggy since morning, the weather conditions were not checked before the helicopter took off. The complaint states that the standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) was ignored while the company managers knew very well that doing so could cause loss of life and property. The complaint said by doing so, Aryan Aviation Pvt Ltd and its managers showed gross negligence towards their responsibilities, due to which the crash occurred.
