ACCCIM to bolster Malaysia's AI edge with Asean AI Business Summit
KUALA LUMPUR: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) is positioning Malaysia at the forefront of the region's artificial intelligence (AI) economy with the upcoming Asean AI Business Summit 2025, slated for Sept 12.
Set to convene more than 1,000 senior business leaders, policymakers, academics, and innovators from across Asean and beyond, the summit will serve as a high-level platform to accelerate digital transformation, drive cross-border collaboration, and showcase Malaysia's leadership in sustainable AI-driven innovation.
ACCCIM president Datuk Ng Yih Pyng said the programme will revolve around four strategic pillars designed to address both the opportunities and challenges of AI adoption.
"The first pillar will focus on business pain points; before discussing solutions, we must first understand the problems. The second will look into AI applications, exploring specific technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and generative AI."
"The third will showcase proven case studies from Asean and beyond, while the final pillar will address business return on investment, helping leaders measure success in financial and broader terms."
Ng added that the event complements national efforts to advance AI adoption, noting the Ministry of Digital Malaysia's Asean AI Malaysia Summit 2025 held on Aug 12.
"While the Ministry's summit plays a crucial role in defining Malaysia's AI policy direction and roadmap, our Asean AI Business Summit takes a business-driven, industry-focused approach," he said.
"Together, these initiatives reinforce each other and contribute to Malaysia's emergence as a leader in the AI economy."
The summit is expected to serve as a catalyst for cross-sector collaboration, strengthening Malaysia's role as a strategic connector between government policy, technological innovation, and business-driven implementation of AI solutions.
