Mum bragged about handcuffing son, 6, and letting Pitbull 'use him as chew toy'

Angelina Williams, 28, faces more than 28 years in prison after she admitted guilt over handcuffing her six-year-old son and sending photos of him in distress to others via social media A mother who handcuffed her six-year-old son and let a Pitbull use him as a "chew toy" bragged about abusing her child. Angelina Williams, 28, from Cleveland, Ohio, pleaded guilty to charges including kidnapping and endangering children during a court session on Monday. She will spend consecutive prison terms that amount to between 23 and 28-and-a-half years, following the Ashland County Common Pleas Court ruling over the August 17 incident. ‌ Williams handcuffed two children. The boy, six at the time, was mauled by a dog, with his 8-year-old sister also bound. The children had been visiting their mum over a two-week period in Savannah. Ohio. Ashland County Assistant Prosecutor Matt Metcalf said the children were forced to pick up dog excrement in the back garden during their stay. ‌ The prosecution said when the children did not want to do it, they were "punished" and handcuffed to chairs. Williams also sent photos of her daughter while handcuffed to friends on the social media platform Snapchat, the court heard. "I've heard and seen some terrible things," Judge Dave Stimpert told the court, according to outlet Ashland Source. "(The child) was handcuffed and the Pitbull used him as a chew toy. And the adults made up a story to cover their butts." He continued: "Except using him as a chew toy is putting it very lightly. That dog tried to rip out his throat. To see the pictures of the bruising around his eyes and face from the force of pressure that that dog put on his throat, and to see the wounds on his neck? I'm not sure there are words that adequately describe that." Williams, who has been behind bars at the Ashland County Jail for 316 days, cried as Judge Stimpert spoke. The judge continued: "You're the child's mother. ‌ "With that comes the duty to protect your children. I don't know any mother would think handcuffing a child's hands and feet is a good idea, period. Yet not only did it, you do it multiple times, you shared photos of it, essentially bragging about it." Williams said in a statement before being sentenced: "Not only was it wrong, but it's caused mental and emotional trauma to my children that will probably haunt them for the rest of their lives. That is something I never intended to happen, and something I'll never forgive myself for." Three others were also involved in the incident, with Robert Michalski Jr, 48, from Savannah, being found partially guilty by the jury in June. He was the owner of the Pitbull. The court heard the Pitbull had been put down following the incident. Michalski Jr was convicted of complicity to endanger a minor and a single count of tampering with evidence. He is due to be sentenced on July 21. Taylor Desiree Marvin-Brown, 29, of Sandusky, pleaded guilty to several charges which included kidnapping, endangering children, and obstructing justice and possessing criminal tools. He was also described as Williams' "paramour" and is due to be sentenced on July 14.
