Washington County township elections: Incumbents hold seats in May, West Lakeland
Township elections results in Washington County were uneventful on Tuesday night.
In May Township, Town Board Chairman John Pazlar held off a challenge from Ashley Kruge. Pazlar, who has served on the town board since 1999, received 285 votes; Kluge got 28 votes. Voter turnout was 14.3 percent.
During the township's annual meeting, residents voted to keep the gopher bounty at $1.50 per pair of front paws, and the start time of board meetings was changed from 7 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
In West Lakeland Township, Chairman Phillip Moosbrugger ran unopposed and received 136 votes. The township had a 4.6 percent turnout.
Moosbrugger said there has not been talk in the township about switching to a November election date, 'but I certainly think it might be something worth considering.'
Residents in West Lakeland also approved a 2026 levy of $2,604,748, a 2.34 percent increase over 2025, he said. 'That was the most momentous thing we did,' he said.
