Govt proposes gym centres at three locations in Puttur

Mangaluru: Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai said that govt gym centres will be established in three locations within the Puttur Assembly constituency. MLA Rai mentioned that he requested the govt to establish these gym centres, and a meeting was also held with the secretary of the department of youth empowerment and sports to seek the release of funds for this purpose. "People, including youth organisations, have made numerous requests to start gym centres in rural areas. During discussions a few months ago, the minister of youth empowerment and sports agreed to this. Proposals for three gym centres submitted by me have reached the commissioner for the department of youth empowerment and sports. Recently, I held a meeting with the commissioner to discuss these demands comprehensively," the MLA said. Currently, there is only a gym centre in Puttur city, making it difficult for rural youth to reach the gym on time. If gym centres are established in rural areas, the youth will utilise them. These centres will be set up in three selected locations within the constituency, he said. For levelling the taluk sports ground to be constructed in Munduru village in Puttur, Rs 8 crore grant is required. The MLA said that he requested the govt secretary of the department of youth empowerment and sports, as well as the commissioner of the department, to release this grant. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo The first phase of construction for the large sports ground in Munduru village was already completed, and officials have assured that the grant for the second phase levelling work will be released soon, he said.
