In the conversation, Renuka recalled being told to lose weight just a day after giving birth to her first child. She revealed that her strong desire for motherhood was a key reason behind her decision to marry. Married at 35 to Ashutosh Rana , whom she praised for his deep family values, Renuka was eager to start a family and had always hoped to have at least two children. T he Hum Aapke Hain Koun actor was taken aback when a friend of her husband Ashutosh Rana, who was also a doctor, told her to lose weight just a day after she gave birth to her first child. She recalled, 'My first child was born in 2002. Despite all my hopes, it wasn't easy. Many things go unspoken. When the doctor and his wife visited me in the hospital, his very first words were, 'Now you must lose weight.' It felt so strange.' Renuka shared how shocked she was by the immediate pressure to lose weight right after childbirth. She felt overwhelmed and confused, as it was her first time facing such expectations. Observing everything unfolding around her, she realized that society often demands mothers not only to excel in motherhood but also to quickly 'bounce back' physically, as if nothing had changed. Renuka Shahane and Ashutosh Rana are known as one of Bollywood's most down-to-earth and graceful couples. After dating for three years, they tied the knot in 2001. Together, they have two sons, Shauryaman and Satyendra, and continue to maintain a strong, grounded relationship away from the limelight.

Interview Ashutosh Rana on whether he will join politics: ‘Have no such ambition'

Actor Ashutosh Rana has diversified his career, venturing into various fields, including acting, voiceover work, authorship, and production. However, one domain where he doesn't seem to aspire to make a mark is the world of politics. He says that he has no interest in starting his political career. When asked about a potential foray into politics, Ashutosh was straightforward and clear in his response. 'We all are in politics as we are part of a democracy. We all have a right to vote, which means that every person is part of the political world,' Ashutosh tells us in Hindi. The actor continues, 'The only difference is that some people reach the Parliament and some people are part of the whole political system from the road... "Today, I believe we need many more people to raise awareness on the streets. Because agar sadak jagi rahegi toh sansad saji rahegi aur aur sansad saji rahi toh sadak jagruk rahegi (If the streets are awake, the parliament will be vibrant, and if the parliament is vibrant, the streets will be aware)." He emphasised that not everyone can be part of the Parliament. 'I am a part of the over 175 crore people of the country. So, I have no ambition to enter the political world at the moment, and don't even wish to,' says the actor, adding, 'I have political knowledge and understanding but don't have any such ambition. Also, I am talking about my present state of mind as I don't believe in making any plans for the future'. 'I don't plan anything and leave it to god. I believe in the truth of the moment,' says the actor, who will soon be seen in War 2. Ashotosh, known for his roles in projects such as Dushman, Sangharsh and Pagglait, recently returned to theatre after 24 years. He plays the role of Ravan in the play Humare Ram, which is presented by Felicity Theatre. He was in Delhi recently for the play, and is not travelling to cities such as Kolkata, Rajkot and Ahmedabad with the play. Talking about going back to theatre, Ashutosh mentions, 'Theatre is our home ground. A place where my acting journey started'. 'I got back to theatre after 2000. The peace and comfort that an actor gets while performing in theatre can't be matched with anything.... It is really special. We communicate and connect with the audience while performing on the stage,' says the actor, who started his journey with the National School Drama. When asked why he remained away for so long, Ashutosh mentions that he was waiting for the right time and right role. 'I aspired to take theatre to the next level and it was done through this play Humare Ram... It is a larger-than-life story. We had to reflect the grandeur, and the stage, which we were able to do with the play. feel blessed that I got this, which was worth the wait,' he wrapped up.

The actor revealed that although he was deeply interested in portraying the iconic character, the opportunity didn't come his way at the time. He candidly shared that Chand Bardai had always been a role on his wish list, making it all the more special when he finally got to step into the character in the historical drama 'Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.' Rana has lent his voice to the character of Chand Bardai in the historical drama. Speaking about being part of the show, the Sangharsh actor told IANS, 'I accepted this role immediately because a few years ago, I had done a Yash Raj production on Prithviraj Chauhan, where I played the role of Jayachandra. To be honest, I had always wanted to play Chand Bardai. Back then, what I truly wished for didn't happen — but now that it is happening, I feel it's a character from my wish list that I finally got to portray. I was very happy to receive this opportunity." Talking about playing Chand Bardai in the show, Ashutosh shared, 'As a child, I grew up listening to stories about Prithviraj Chauhan, tales of his unmatched bravery, wisdom, and spirit. Those stories left a deep impact on me, and to now be part of bringing that legend to life is truly special." Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, 'Samrat Prithviraj" starred Akshay Kumar in the titular character. The period drama also starred Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana, and Sakshi Tanwar in other pivotal roles. Sonu played the role of Chand Bardai in the movie, whereas Rana portrayed the character of Jayachandra. Inspired by Prithviraj Raso, the legendary Braj-language epic that chronicles the life and heroics of Chahamana dynasty ruler Prithviraj Chauhan, the historical drama made its way to the big screen on June 3, 2022. Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 19 (ANI): The launch of the Hindi film 'Mera Ghar' turned into a moment of patriotic expression as several Bollywood actors shared their support for India's stance amidst ongoing tensions with Pakistan. The muhurat ceremony was held in Bhopal on Monday in the presence of the film's ensemble cast and notable dignitaries. Actor and producer Sanjay Kapoor, speaking on Operation Sindhoor, voiced strong support for the Indian government's response and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. 'From the first day, my family and I have supported this. We have supported this (Op Sindoor) through social media. We families are standing by PM Modi's decision,' he told ANI. Veteran actor Ashutosh Rana echoed a message of trust in India's leadership during these challenging times. 'The people we have chosen in India are more prudent than us and I personally believe that we should trust their prudence, their intelligence and their joint integrity. I think that whatever appropriate steps India has to take, India has taken them and India will keep taking them,' he said. Actress Vidya Malvade also shared her sentiments, highlighting India's role as a defender rather than an aggressor. 'I am extremely proud of what India is doing and has done. We are not the attackers; we are the defenders. We have defended and told the world that we will give a befitting reply if you attack our people like this. The film 'Mera Ghar' brings together a diverse cast including Ashutosh Rana, Arbaaz Khan, Warina Hussain, LV, Sanjay Kapoor, Vidya Malvade, Deepshikha Nagpal, and Iva Grover.
