Sanjay Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Vidya Malvade laud PM Modi, Indian Army on 'Operation Sindoor'
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 19 (ANI): The launch of the Hindi film 'Mera Ghar' turned into a moment of patriotic expression as several Bollywood actors shared their support for India's stance amidst ongoing tensions with Pakistan.
The muhurat ceremony was held in Bhopal on Monday in the presence of the film's ensemble cast and notable dignitaries.
Actor and producer Sanjay Kapoor, speaking on Operation Sindhoor, voiced strong support for the Indian government's response and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
'From the first day, my family and I have supported this. We have supported this (Op Sindoor) through social media. We families are standing by PM Modi's decision,' he told ANI.
Veteran actor Ashutosh Rana echoed a message of trust in India's leadership during these challenging times. 'The people we have chosen in India are more prudent than us and I personally believe that we should trust their prudence, their intelligence and their joint integrity. I think that whatever appropriate steps India has to take, India has taken them and India will keep taking them,' he said.
Actress Vidya Malvade also shared her sentiments, highlighting India's role as a defender rather than an aggressor. 'I am extremely proud of what India is doing and has done. We are not the attackers; we are the defenders. We have defended and told the world that we will give a befitting reply if you attack our people like this. We will stand up for ourselves, and I salute the army and everyone who protects us by risking their lives,' she said.
The film 'Mera Ghar' brings together a diverse cast including Ashutosh Rana, Arbaaz Khan, Warina Hussain, LV, Sanjay Kapoor, Vidya Malvade, Deepshikha Nagpal, and Iva Grover.
The ceremonial muhurat shot was conducted by the Tourism Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dharamendra Lodhiji.
The film is directed by Nripen J G Mohla and produced by Krishna Sharma. (ANI)

'Thug Life' box office collection Day 6: Kamal Haasan starrer crosses Rs 40 crore mark; earns Rs 1.75 crore across all languages on Tuesday
Kamal Haasan 's film 'Thug Life', directed by Mani Ratnam , is nearing the end of its first week and is doing so on an impressive note. The film which has completed six days in theatres, earned around Rs 40.95 crore at the domestic box office across all languages, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. Thug Life was released on June 5, 2025, and brought together Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after nearly 40 years. Their last film together was the iconic Nayakan in 1987. Despite the star-studded cast and high expectations, the Tamil gangster drama has seen a steady decline in box office collections after its strong opening day. Thug Life had a good start, earning Rs 15.5 crore on its first day across Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi versions. Out of this, Tamil Nadu alone contributed Rs 13.35 crore. On the second day, the film saw a big drop of around 54%, making Rs 7.15 crore. The weekend brought slight improvement, with Rs 7.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.5 crore on Sunday. On Monday, Thug Life saw a major fall in collections, earning just Rs 2.3 crore. Tuesday (Day 6) saw an even lower earning of Rs 1.75 crore, according to early estimates. Thug Life to soon release on OTT? Amid poor box office performance, here's what we know about Kamal Haasan's film
Kamal Haasan's latest release Thug Life might be released on OTT sooner than expected, as per multiple reports. The film marks the reunion between filmmaker Mani Ratnam and Haasan. It ran into trouble due to Haasan's controversial 'Tamil-Kannada" remark and suffered a major loss at the box office over its blockage in Karnataka. Thug Life is a gangster drama, also starring Silambarasan. Before its release on June 5, Kamal Haasan had shared that Thug Life would mark its OTT debut after 8 weeks of its theatrical release. The film is said to be streamed online on Netflix. It seems Thug Life can be out on OTT after four weeks of its theatrical release now, reported M9 News. Reportedly, the OTT giant is evaluating the 8-week schedule since the film received an underwhelming response at the box office. Thug Life was released on Thursday and saw a decent start, making a business of ₹ 15. 5 crore [Tamil: ₹ 13.35 crore; Hindi: 0.65 crore; Teleugu: 1.5 crore]. However, over the first weekend, instead of showing growth, the film saw a sharp decline in its earnings. On Monday, it only minted ₹ 2.3 crore [Tamil: ₹ 1.9 crore ; Hindi: 0.1 crore; Telugu: ₹ 0.3 crore]. Going by the early estimates now, the film made ₹ 1.75 crore on Tuesday. However, the makers of the film are yet to make an official announcement about the OTT release. Talking about Thug Life's OTT release, Kamal Haasan was quoted saying by PTI, "It is not even an experiment, it's a pragmatic thing to do. I'm glad that the OTT (Netflix) agreed. We sat together, and it was not a negotiation. It's a plan, which maybe others could follow. 'It will make the industry healthy and we are glad that we were the first to be there to avail of that opportunity.' Thug Life is directed by Mani Ratnam, and co-written by Kamal Haasan who is also starring in the lead. It also stars Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal and Rohit Saraf.
