It's alleged that the incident occurred on Wednesday 23 July 2025 at a premises in Manchester. The man has since been bailed pending further enquiries. The victim is being supported by officers," Manchester police told Reuters.
The Pakistan Cricket Board provisionally suspended the cricketer for the duration of the criminal investigation and stated, 'The PCB has been made aware of a criminal investigation currently being conducted by the Greater Manchester Police involving cricketer Haider Ali. The investigation pertains to an incident that reportedly occurred during the Pakistan Shaheens' recent tour of England.'Haider Ali is a 24-year-old batter, who broke into the Pakistani team in 2020, after making his First Class debut in 2019. He has often been compared to India's ODI captain Rohit Sharma for his compact batting technique, strong off-side play, solid defensive skills and dangerous pull shots. He played for Peshawar Zalmi as he was selected in the Supplementary category during the 2020 Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft. and became the youngest player in PSL to score a half-century.
Ali found himself in trouble when he was removed from the squad after breaching the bio-secure bubble during the 2021 PSL he was named the vice-captain of the Pakistan Shaheens for their Sri Lanka tour in October, 2021. In August 2022, Ali earned a spot in Pakistan's squad for the Asia Cup far, Ali has played two ODIs and 35 T20Is for Pakistan and was a senior member of the Pakistan Shaheens during their tour of the UK. On the tour, he took part in all three 50-over matches against a first-class XI, as well as two three-day games.
