Sabah FC bounce back with win

AFTER the recent thrashing by Buriram United of Thailand in the Asian Charity Shield played in Thailand early this month, Sabah FC are back on winning note in their pre-season friendly with a 3-1 win over DPMM from Brunei at Liks Stadium last Saturday. It was also their third warm-up match after the 4-0 win over another Brunei club side Kasuka FC before the tie with Buriram United. Alto Linos has once again said after the game that there are still flaws in their game and finishing must be a big concern for him with the season set to start at the end of August.

New signings failed to impress

Published on: Saturday, July 19, 2025 Published on: Sat, Jul 19, 2025 By: James Wong Text Size: The question on everyone's mind, especially the supporters, is how well Sabah FC will fare in the coming season. SABAH FC were thrashed 2-8 by Buriram United of Thailand in the Asian Charity Shield played in Thailand on July 13. Though it was only an international friendly, the scoreline was still deeply embarrassing. Sabah FC with some new faces in the line-up looked so amateurish in that encounter against a team who are definitely a class above us. Advertisement The Thai champions showed that they are one of the top sides in Asia with a very good display and made Sabah FC look like a school team. Among the reasons given by assistant coach Alto Linus for the heavy defeat was because Sabah FC were not match ready and lacked physical fitness as the players had just started training barely a month ago after a long break.
