India's double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker claimed the bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on Tuesday. Bhaker scored 219.7 in the eight-women finals, earning her third place. China's Qianke Ma secured the gold medal with a score of 243.2, narrowly edging out Korean Jiin Yang, who won the silver with 241.6. The 23-year-old Bhaker advanced to the final by finishing third in the qualifications, with a score of 583. Korea's Yejin Oh led the qualifications with a score of 585, though she was competing for ranking points only, allowing China's Qianxun Yao to enter the final as the top-ranked shooter. Esha Singh, also competing for ranking points, finished ninth with 577, while Suruchi Singh secured 12th place with 574. Palak ended in 17th position with 573, and Surbhi Rao (RPO) was 25th with 570. India's Kapil won a gold medal in the 10m air pistol men's junior event at the Asian Shooting Championships 2025 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on Monday. The youngster, who finished fourth (579 - 15x) in the qualifying round, outdid Uzbekistan's Ilkhombek Obidjonov in the final round, shooting a 10.8 and 10.6 to take the top spot with a total of 243.0. His competitor could manage only 10.4 and 9.4, finishing with 242.4 to take silver. India's Jonathan Antony clinched bronze — he shot six 9s in as many series, resulting in a total of 220.7. Mukesh Nelavalli (157.8) finished sixth. Earlier, in the qualifying, South Korea's Kim Dooyeon (582 - 26x) topped the sheet, while Anthony (582 - 20x) came second and Nelavalli (582 - 18x) was third. In the 10m air pistol men's event, Anmol Jain came sixth with a total of 155.1 in the final. China's Hu Kai (241.6), Korea's Hong Suhyeon (239.0) and Iran's Amir Joharikhou (216.8) were the top three. Anmol had finished ninth in the qualifying round with 580 - 17x, while Amit Sharma (588 - 24x), who finished atop the qualifying standings, was competing for Ranking Points Only (RPO). Meanwhile, the Indian team comprising Anmol, Saurabh Chaudhary and Aditya Malra secured a silver in the 10m air pistol men's team event with a total of 1735-52x. Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker will headline the Asian Shooting championships 2025 as the largest Indian squad will be in action from 18th September in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. Alongside Manu in the pistol events, Saurabh Chaudhary will be in action. The 2018 Asian Games gold medallist is on a comeback trail in this Olympic cycle. The spotlight will be on youngster Suruchi Phogat in Air Pistol who is having a stellar year with three ISSF World Cup gold medals. Former world champion Rudrankksh Patil will lead the men's air rifle, along with Olympic finalist Arjun Babuta and Kiran Ankush Jadhav. In the men's 50m 3P, reigning Asian Champion Chain Singh will look to defend his title while World Record holder Sift Kaur Samra will lead India's challenge in women's 50m 3P with experienced Anjum Moudgil. The women's air rifle team has experienced shooters Mehuli Ghosh and Elavenil Valarivan and youngster Ananya Naidu. India will look to better their third-place finish from last year's edition in Changwon, South Korea, where they won 19 medals (6 gold, 8 silver, 5 bronze). The competition will be provided a world-class field for Indian shooters to compete, as both China and Korea are fielding strong teams. India are fielding a 164-member team across events as the junior Asian Championships will run simultaneously. Men Women Mixed Team Where to watch Asian Shooting Championships 2025?
