Bill Gates' 22-Year-Old Daughter Says It's 'Terrifying' For The Boys She Brings Home to Meet Her 'Socially Awkward' Dad in His $63 Million Mansion

Most 22-year-olds don't have to worry about their dad being Bill Gates when they bring someone home—but Phoebe Gates does. And according to her, it's a little bit hilarious... unless you're the guy. In an appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast last month, Phoebe sat down with host Alex Cooper—alongside climate activist and business partner Sophia Kianni—to talk about launching their own podcast, "The Burnouts." But the internet had other priorities: her stories about introducing dates to her famously introverted dad at his $63 million lakefront high-tech mansion in Medina, Washington. "Terrifying, for the guy. For me? Hilarious." Don't Miss: Hasbro, MGM, and Skechers trust this AI marketing firm — Here's what Americans think you need to be considered wealthy. That's how Phoebe summed it up. "My dad's, like, pretty socially awkward—he's said he has Asperger's," she explained on the podcast. "To me, it's so funny, but for guys, I think they get, like, really wigged out." Phoebe didn't just tell—it was full storytime. One of the standout memories? A high school dance. "My mom had signed my dad up to drive me and the boy to the dance together," she said. "First off, my dad insisted on us listening to NPR the entire 30-minute drive. He stopped for fast food, then he calls the guy—he's like, 'Be responsible tonight, Max Demonhower.' His name was Maxwell Danenhower. Literally wanted to die." For Phoebe, these awkward encounters have turned into a kind of test. "Depending on how he reacts, that's how you know if he's gonna be a good guy or not," she told Cooper. If someone can survive a socially anxious Bill Gates mispronouncing their name inside a high-security estate—maybe they're worth keeping around. Trending: Phoebe also joked that she's the life of the party in a family of self-proclaimed nerds. "It used to be a joke our family would be so boring if I wasn't born," she said. "At the dad-daughter dances my mom would have us go to, I would force my dad to go talk to all the other dads and daughters there. I was like, 'No. If we're here, we're going to socialize. We've got to work this room, Bill.'" And don't even try to challenge them to a game night. "You do not want to play a board game with the two of us," she warned. "That's actually worse than introducing a guy to my dad." Bringing home a date is nerve-wracking enough. Bringing them into a tech billionaire's $63 million mansion where they'll be grilled by a man who co-founded Microsoft and prefers NPR over small talk? Brutal. But Phoebe's take? If they can't handle that, they probably weren't "the guy" anyway. Read Next: Invest where it hurts — and help millions heal:. Can you guess how many retire with a $5,000,000 nest egg? . Criminal Justice S4 Review: Pankaj Tripathi Works His Natural Charm But Surveen Chawla Wins This Trial

However, his swanky new job is jeopardised when he decides to represent a well-known client in a case involving Dr Raj Nagpal, who hails from the upper echelons of Mumbai's high-rise community. Madhav is told to drop the case, otherwise his 'aam aadmi wala chehra celebrity lagne lagega". It's hard not to interpret this as a cheeky reference to the many 'aam aadmis' that Pankaj Tripathi has played on screen. Meanwhile, Dr Raj Nagpal (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) has been arrested under suspicion that he has murdered his mistress, nurse Roshni Saluja (Asha Negi). Roshni also looked after his daughter, Ira, who has Asperger syndrome. Roshni was found dead in Raj's arms a day after Ira's birthday. Naturally, all eyes are on Raj. In a twisted turn of events, Raj's estranged wife, Anju (Surveen Chawla), also finds herself embroiled in the high-profile murder trial. As the defence and the prosecution peel this glass onion layer by layer over eight episodes, one is compelled to inch closer to the edge of their seat. Of course, one might feel confident to predict the outcome of the series near its end. As the heart of the show, it is believed that Madhav Mishra will ultimately win the case. He does. But even at his best, Madhav is bested. The story ends with a welcome twist, highlighting clues that were evident all along but could easily be missed by unsuspecting viewers- a general marker for good murder mysteries. Criminal Justice Season 4 has three obvious assets: Pankaj Tripathi, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Surveen Chawla. Director Rohan Sippy has used all three quite well. Pankaj Tripathi brings a natural charm to his character, making it impossible not to root for Madhav Mishra. The actor's witty one-liners, delivered in his characteristic parlance, add humour to the grim tale. Since Madhav Mishra is not a new character, it would be unfair to expect anything else. However, Pankaj Tripathi seems to be exhausting his quota of 'aam aadmi" characters. It would be interesting (and needed) to watch him change his tune. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub plays Dr Raj with ease. His eyes lend a sense of believability to Raj, whether the prosecution grills him or the defence tries to save him. The actor's scene with his on-screen daughter when she visits him in jail is particularly noteworthy and heartbreaking- it's subtle yet intense. Surveen Chawla shines as the mysterious Anju. The thriller genre is slowly becoming a second skin for the actress, and it's time that her acting chops are acknowledged more loudly. Whether Anju has to present an air of detached sophistication or experiences an unnerving breakdown, Surveen portrays all the emotions of her character with great conviction. Although the show has an able cast, writers Harman Wadala, Sandeep Jain and Sameer Mishra have done a good job in keeping one hooked to the show with the plot. It would have been better if the audience had more insight into Asha Negi's character. But the logically sound story with enough plot twists makes Criminal Justice an interesting watch. However, there is one detail that becomes too hard to ignore.

Cops were called after Hockey barricaded himself inside the building - and arrived to find him in scuba-diving gear and breathing apparatus while holding a spear. Read More in The Sun Armed officers and a negotiator were called to the siege in Pontypool, South Wales, and when they cut the power to his flat he shouted "b*****s" at them. The court heard Hockey caused £31,000 of damage during the two hour stand-off. When officers and firefighters eventually entered Hockey was found in a bath full of water. The crazed attacker had to be tased and blasted with a water hose before his arrest. He said: "He had been ranting and raving and making threats against a neighbour. "The defendant screamed that he was a traitor and said he was going to tear his face off and kill him." Armed cops descend on Lewisham amid fears of 'hostage situation' as man seen waving knife outside window He added: "He was described as snarling like a dog and said he was going to shoot him with a bow and arrow." Mr Roberts said Hockey then began hitting his neighbour's front door with an axe. "The victim, who has Asperger's, was terrified and was struggling to make sense of what was happening," he said. "He thought he was going to get into his flat and kill him." Hockey was sectioned under the Mental Health Act following the incident at the apartments owned by housing association Melin Homes on August 15, 2023. He was also armed to the teeth with cops finding a whip, a bow and arrow and an old police truncheon. Hockey admitted arson reckless as to whether life was endangered, affray, cultivating cannabis and criminal damage at Newport Crown Court. Alice Sykes, defending, said the event that day might have been triggered by a psychotic episode brought on by drug use. She added that Hockey had shown "genuine remorse". Judge Matthew Porter-Bryant said it was lucky that no one had been injured or killed and commended the emergency services for their actions. "Thankfully, only time and money was lost here," he added. Hockey of Sebastopol, Pontypool was jailed for two years and six months.

Bill Gates to give away 99% of wealth, Gates Foundation to close by 2045

Bill Gates announced on Thursday that the Gates Foundation will close in 2045, following the donation of 99 percent of his remaining wealth, estimated at $107 billion. The foundation's donation will be distributed over time, enabling it to spend an additional $200 billion over the next 20 years, reported Associated Press. 'It's kind of thrilling to have that much to be able to put into these causes,' Gates told the news agency. Also Read: Who is Phoebe Gates? Bill Gates' daughter who revealed he has Asperger syndrome He added, 'I think 20 years is the right balance between giving as much as we can to make progress on these things and giving people a lot of notice that now this money will be gone.' Bill Gates' pledge will be one of the largest philanthropic contributions made by an industrialist, outdoing other historic donations by American tycoons John D Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie. Also Read: Bill Gates' daughter Phoebe gets candid about past relationship with 'childhood sweetheart' His foundation, which supports several causes, has made a sustained effort to work towards ending poverty and promoting global health and education. About 41 per cent of the foundation's money so far has come from fellow industrialist Warren Buffett and the rest from Bill Gates' profits made at Microsoft. The foundation was established by Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates in 2000, and initially began collaborating with companies to drive down the cost of medical treatments so low and middle-income countries could afford them. Over the last 25 years, they have spent $100 billion that has been directed towards new scientific research, developing technology, health and sanitation programmes and more. As one of the world's largest charitable organisations, The Gates Foundation helped establish Gavi, a vaccine alliance that funds and distributes vaccines for children, and the Global Fund, which, along with governments, funds the treatment and control of HIV, tuberculosis and malaria. Gates has stated that the impactful nature of the work has made it his second and final career. Further, he added that he would love for other billionaires to also contribute and outpace his work. 'I'd love to be beat in all of this work. Somebody should try and pay more taxes than I did, and save more lives than I did, and give more money than I did, and be smarter than I've been," he said.
