Shura Council condemns crimes committed by takfiri groups in Syria

Sana'a - Saba: The Shura Council on Wednesday condemned the crimes committed by takfiri groups against innocent civilians in the Syrian coastal areas. In a statement, the Council stated that these crimes amount to war crimes and genocide, which are shameful to humanity and aim to tear apart the Syrian social fabric in service of Zionist schemes in the region. The Council noted that the massacres committed by armed groups constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian and human rights laws and divert attention from the blatant attacks of the Zionist entity on Syrian territory. The statement condemned the Arab and Islamic silence regarding the crimes targeting defenseless civilians on the Syrian coast, calling on the Association of Senates and Shura Councils in Africa and the Arab World to condemn these crimes and exert pressure in international forums to halt the massacres committed by armed groups and Israeli violations in Syria. The Council reiterated its full solidarity with the brotherly Syrian people in the face of the brutal crimes they are subjected to. It called on the Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world to shoulder their religious and humanitarian responsibility toward the Syrian people and to take urgent action at all levels to stop these crimes and demand that their perpetrators be brought to justice. Shura speaker condemns Trump's statements on displacing Gazans

Sana'a - Saba: The main committee of the Shura Council held a meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Council Chairman Mohammed Hussein al-Aidaroos, and attended by Vice-Chairs Mohammed Al-Durra and Daif Allah Rassam. During the meeting, the committee strongly condemned the recent statements by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip. The committee viewed these remarks as part of an ongoing effort by the Zionist entity to forcibly displace Gaza's residents, a goal that has failed due to the steadfastness and resilience of the Palestinian people. This was demonstrated by the scenes of displaced Gazans returning to their homes, despite the destruction. The committee also denounced the Zionist entity's violation of the ceasefire agreement, which has put the lives of returning displaced persons at risk. It commended the Palestinian people for their unwavering determination in the face of Israeli aggression. Further, the committee condemned the actions of Israeli Minister of War, Israel Katz, who stormed the Jenin camp today in violation of international law. The committee viewed this as an attempt to escalate tensions in the West Bank and perpetrate further crimes against Palestinians. The committee called on the Association of Senates and Shura Councils in Africa and the Arab World to formally denounce the American statements and push for stronger international measures to protect the Palestinian people. It also urged the rejection of plans by the Zionist entity, supported by America and its allies, to liquidate the Palestinian cause. In addition to discussing these important political issues, the committee reviewed a number of topics concerning the activities of the council's permanent committees and the progress of their work under the 1446 AH plan. Decisions were made to enhance the implementation of these programs. The committee emphasized the need for council members to increase their community involvement and to strengthen unity in the face of internal and external challenges that threaten the security and stability of the homeland.
