Oregon duo wins U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball, earns spots into U.S. Women's Am at Bandon
Oregon duo wins U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball, earns spots into U.S. Women's Am at Bandon The kids are alright. For a fifth year in a row, a pair of teenagers has teamed up to win the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball. It's only the 10th year for this U.S. Golf Association event but a clear trend has emergerd with this latest win by Natalie Yen, 18, of West Linn, Oregon, and Asia Young, 16, of Bend, Oregon. The duo won 5 and 3, the second-largest margin in this event's final, over Athena Singh and Keira Yun, both 17, on Wednesday at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club in Nichols Hills, Oklahoma. With this final matchup, either team winning would have meant another teenage duo claiming the crowd. "I think overall, we trust each other to play our games, and we know we're trying our best,' said the Texas A&M-bound Yen. "At the end of the day, I think we both know that we're both able to score.' After reaching the par-5 fifth in two shots and making birdie, the Oregon pair took a 3 up lead. They followed that with a 30-foot birdie putt on No. 6 to go 4 up. Singh and Yun won the 14th hole, the only hole they would win in the final. The match ended on the par-3 15th after Young nearly made an ace, the ball almost going jar before rolling out to about 15 feet. Young then made the birdie to close it out. The pair later posed for photos with the trophy as well as No. 15 hole flags to signify where they won the match. In addition to being exempt for this event for the next 10 years provided the duo stays together, Yen and Young also have earned spots into the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur, being played this year at Bandon Dunes in their homestate of Oregon, as well as the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia. The USGA notes that Yen and Young are the 749th and 750th unique champions in the organization's history dating back to 1895.

What is the playoff format at the PGA Championship? History of playoffs for Wanamaker
What is the playoff format at the PGA Championship? History of playoffs for Wanamaker There were playoffs to decide each of the first two major championships of the year, the Masters for the men and the Chevron Championship for the women. But what is the playoff format at the PGA Championship? It has changed over the years. The 2025 PGA Championship is set for May 15-18 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Justin Thomas won his first PGA title in 2017 at Quail Hollow, the last time the major was contested there. PGA Championship playoff format The PGA of America employs a three-hole aggregate to determine its champion. Which three holes are used depends on the course the PGA Championship is at each year. If two or more players are tied after 72 holes, they will compete over three additional holes with the player producing the lowest total score winning. If players are still tied, sudden death is implemented. The PGA of America switched was first used in 2000, when Tiger Woods beat Bob May at Valhalla. When was the last PGA Championship playoff? Justin Thomas defeated Will Zalatoris in 2022 at Southern Hills to win his second Wanamaker. History of PGA Championship playoffs with aggregate 2000: Tiger Woods beats Bob May, Valhalla 2004: Vijay Singh beats Chris DiMarco, Justin Leonard, Whistling Straits 2010: Martin Kaymer beats Bubba Watson, Whistling Straits 2011: Keegan Bradley beats Jason Dufner, Atlanta Athletic Club 2022: Justin Thomas beats Will Zalatoris, Southern Hills Playoff format for other majors The Masters, where Rory McIlroy beat Justin Rose in a playoff, uses sudden death. The U.S. Open uses a two-hole aggregate. The Open Championship uses a four-hole aggregate.

Highly ranked Georgia club plans golf course renovation to begin in 2028
Highly ranked Georgia club plans golf course renovation to begin in 2028 Atlanta Athletic Club has hired architect Andrew Green to renovate the facility's Highlands Course. It's part of a seven-year master plan that will touch several key areas including the club's tennis, athletic and dining operations. Green will plan the course renovation over the next several months and begin construction in 2028. The Highlands Course ranks No. 8 on Golfweek's Best list of top private clubs in the very competitive state of Georgia. Highlands also ties for No. 129 on Golfweek's Best ranking of modern courses in the United States. The layout opened as a nine-hole course in 1967 designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. with its second nine, designed by Joe Finger, opening in 1971. The course was most recently renovated in 2016 by Rees Jones. The Highlands course has hosted the U.S. Open (1976), three PGA Championships (1981, 2001, 2011), a U.S. Women's Open (1990), the U.S. Amateur (2014) and a KPMG Women's PGA Championship (2021). Alongside the 36-hole club's Riverside Course, Highlands will host the 2030 U.S. Amateur, celebrating the 100th anniversary of club member and former president Bobby Jones' Grand Slam victories. The U.S. Women's Amateur will be played on Highlands in 2035. Green has completed renovations to several top clubs around the U.S., including Inverness Club in Ohio, Oak Hill's East Course in New York, Congressional's Blue Course in Maryland, Interlachen in Minnesota, Scioto in Ohio and East Lake in Atlanta. "There are few organizations in the United States that mean this much to the game of golf,' Green said in a media release announcing the club membership's approval of the capital expenses. 'Atlanta Athletic Club has produced so many great players and has contributed immensely to growing the game. I am tremendously honored to have the opportunity to build on Atlanta Athletic Club's legacy of greatness. 'The Highlands Course occupies some intriguing ground. We look forward to maximizing the opportunity for unique golf that can test the world's best while providing a canvas to enjoy the game every day at the highest level, no matter your skill level." The club, located 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta in Johns Creek, hired Tripp Davis to renovate its Riverside Course in 2022.
