New Release of The Persona5 Series, The Phantom X Confirms Southeast Asia Release Date. Pre-registration Is Now Open

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Media OutReach Newswire - 29 May 2025 - Following successful launches in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau SARs, Taiwan region, and South Korea in April 2024, Persona5: The Phantom X finally announced the Southeast Asia release date. The highly anticipated title will be available on mobile devices and PC on July 3, 2025, bringing more of the series' stylish turn-based combat and an entirely new cast of Phantom Thieves. Developed through a collaboration between Atlus' P-Studio and Chinese developer Black Wing Games, Persona5: The Phantom X is a mobile-optimised title that transports players back to the world of Persona5, allowing players to control Wonder, a second-year high school student at Kokatsu Academy, whose mundane life takes a dramatic turn after encountering a mysterious owl-like creature named Lufel. As Wonder unravels the truth behind a society losing its desire, players will form a new team of Phantom Thieves and embark on a mission to restore this vital human essence. Promotional Video: As a live-service title, Persona5: The Phantom X promises an ever-evolving adventure. The game features familiar gameplay pillars from the mainline series—including turn-based combat, dungeon crawling, time management, and social bonding—while introducing new systems unique to this entry. Players can take on part-time jobs, join after-school clubs, strengthen their Personas, and develop social stats, all within a vibrant, original narrative. Notably, fan-favourite Persona characters, such as Joker, Ann Takamaki, and Ryuji Sakamoto, will make special appearances via exclusive in-game contracts. New additions to the series include the Velvet Trials, a PvE-focused challenge mode, an expanded Mementos to explore, mini-games, and the ability to form or join Guilds, offering players new avenues for cooperative and competitive play. Since its regional debut, Persona5: The Phantom X has received acclaim for its engaging story and dynamic new cast, qualities fans have praised as being remarkably in line with the high standards of the original Persona5. This strong reception is no surprise, as the development team includes veteran creators such as the General Producer Kazuhisa Wada, Composer Ryota Kozuka and Character Design Shigenori Soejima. Pre-registration is now open via the iOS App Store and Google Play, with exclusive milestone-based rewards to be distributed at launch through in-game mail. Current reward tiers include: • 50,000 pre-registrations: Free contract draws ×10 • 100,000 pre-registrations: Free weapon draws ×5 • 200,000 pre-registrations: Free Outfit for Protagonist (More milestone rewards to be revealed soon.) Persona 5: The Phantom X is coming to PC and mobile next month

There's a new Persona game coming very soon, but sadly it isn't time for the next mainline entry just yet. Rather, Persona 5: The Phantom X is a spinoff in a similar vein to Persona 5 Strikers . Like that game, The Phantom X is set in the same universe as Atlus' incredibly successful RPG, Persona 5 , but unlike Strikers , this one features a new cast of characters, including a talking owl named Lufel that presumably takes the place of Morgana. First announced in 2023, Persona 5: The Phantom X is a free-to-play live service game from Chinese publisher Perfect World, which released the game in open beta in its native country in April last year. It introduces a fresh team of Phantom Thieves and seems to be aiming for the classic Persona blend of high school drama, social interaction and dungeon crawling with impossibly stylish turn-based battles. There's a new 'Synergy' system that develops as you form bonds with NPCs, new mini-games and a PvE mode called The Velvet Trials. To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. Underpinning the whole experience will be a free-to-play model, the exact nature of which is not yet clear. Time will tell if gacha tactics will get in the way of a good time, and how well the familiar Persona gameplay loop translates to your phone, but the game's official website says it's intended for both Persona 5 fans and newcomers. Atlus will be hoping that P5X tides fans over until it has any news on Persona 6 . Its most recent release was last year's Metaphor: ReFantazio , and the studio is currently saying nothing about the follow-up to Persona 5 , which launched in its original pre- Royal state way back in 2016. Persona 5: The Phantom X launches June 26 on PC, iOS and Android.

PS4 Port of Vita's Best Game Is Under $10 on PS Store

Another day, another deal for gamers to sink their teeth into. Currently, Sony's video game digital storefront is running its Dealmania promotion which sees literally hundreds of items discounted up to 75%. This includes a , and one of the most beloved JRPGs of all time. Atlus' Persona 4 Golden is currently $9.99 on the PS Store. That is a 50% discount from its typical $19.99 price tag. Interested PS4 and PS5 gamers will want to hurry though as this offer ends in six days, on March 13. 'They say your soulmate will appear if you stare into a television set on a rainy night…,' reads the game's description on the PS Store. 'This strange rumor slowly spreads through the rural town of Inaba, the protagonist's new home, just as a chain of mysterious murders begin. As the protagonist and his teammates chase after the truth, they find themselves opening the door to another world.' Persona 4 Golden was originally launched for Sony's gone but not forgotten handheld, the PS Vita, back in 2012 and was received incredibly well upon release. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an average score of 93 across 61 critic reviews. It is tied with the base version of Persona 5 as the second highest-rated game in the series. The highest-rated is 2020's Persona 5 Royal, a rerelease of the fifth entry that added some new content, features, and quality-of-life improvements. Persona 4 received a plethora of spin-offs after its original 2008 release for the PS2. This includes the fighting game Persona 4 Arena, its sequel Person 4 Arena Ultimax, and rhythm game Persona 4: Dancing All Night. It was also given a manga and anime adaptation.
