Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.07%
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Wednesday. Shares of Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.58 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.22 per cent) and Canara Bank(up 0.2 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.91 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day. The Nifty Bank index closed 0.07 per cent down at 57213.55. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 46.41 points at 25476.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 176.43 points at 83536.08. Live Events Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red. Shares of JP Power , Vodafone Idea , RattanIndia Power , PC Jeweller and Ibull Housing Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE. IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 3.57 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers. Axis Bank Ltd.(down 2.54 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.83 per cent), Canara Bank(down 1.06 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.63 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
