Linda Evangelista has very modest 60th birthday party... after not getting out of bed for less than $10K a day
Linda Evangelista was surrounded by family and friends as she celebrated her 60th birthday earlier this month. The former supermodel, who looked chic at a recent charity gala in New York City, chose a relaxed by elegant look for the casual backyard party to mark her latest trip around the sun in photos posted on Tuesday. The runway veteran donned a black and gray flannel shirt over a vintage Blue Oyster Cult T-shirt with a long denim skirt for the gathering. She later added a beige jacket as the sun went down and the temperatures became cooler. She pulled her dark locks back into a bun and wore natural looking makeup. The ___ accessorized with a thick gold necklace and large sunglasses in the late afternoon sun. The table was beautifully spread with finger foods that included charcuterie and crudité, with various dips and cheeses. Pink, purple and yellow tulips decorated the buffet table, while gorgeous bouquets of flowers were placed around her home. This comes 35 years after she stated in a Vogue interview in 1990, 'We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day.' The Ready to Wear beauty blew out the candle of a very small chocolate cake with a gold '60' placed on top. One friend gave Evangelista a bottle of wine aptly named La Linda. Modest party favors included lollipops with a black and white photo of Evangelista at the height of her career and mini chocolate bars, featuring a photo of the model and her son, Augustin (Augie) 18, whom she shares with ex, François-Henri Pinault, who is now married to Salma Hayek. 'Thanks to everyone who made 60 so special. I love you all,' the Canadian-American model wrote next to the photos shared on social media Monday. Well wishes came in from all around the world for the international beauty. 'Happiest Birthday beauty❤️❤️❤️love you, 'wrote fellow model and actress Amber Valletta. 'Happiest of Birthdays! ❤️' seconded Iman. 'Happy Birthday, Goddess!! ♥️' exclaimed actress Gwendolyn Christie. Julianne Moore, Selma Blair and Nancy Sinatra also sent their best wishes. Although she seemed very comfortable posing for pictures with friends at her party, the former cover model has said it is difficult for her to look in the mirror following the trauma of having a bad reaction to a series of Cool Sculpting procedures designed to be a non-invasive option to liposuction. Instead of losing the fat, she developed Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, a rare side effect in which the targeted fat cells grew larger rather than smaller. Evangelista said she it left her 'permanently deformed' and 'brutally disfigured' in an emotional social media post in 2021. She Cool Sculpting for $50 million in damages, alleging that she was unable to work. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar in April, Evangelista said she looked forward to growing older. 'I don't care how I age. I just want to age,' she stated. 'It doesn't have to be gracefully. I really, really, really don't want to die. I have still so much to do. I'm finally getting comfortable with myself and with everything, and now I want to enjoy it.' 'I'm alive. I'm alive. I'm alive,' she said, 'and I'm going to do what I have to do. I'm going to fight because I don't want it any other way. I'm not done.'

There's More to The Story of The Plane Passenger Who Swallowed Rosary Beads Amidst Chaotic Fit
There are some more details emerging about the mystery man who had a violent outburst on an inflight America Airlines trip last month. We're not sure this justifies his chaotic behavior but it certainly adds some more context. Delange Augustin, 31, was arrested following the scene that unfolded on March 10. He and his sister were onboard a flight from Savannah, Ga. to Miami when suddenly he appeared to have a 'fit of epilepsy,' according to The Independent. Following that, crew members and fellow flight passengers recalled Augustin stomping, shaking and yelling before getting physical with the folks surrounding him. He punched, kicked and grabbed a woman's hair so tight, it had to be cut in order for her to be loose from his grip, witnesses told CBS. Once he was on the ground, witnesses said he swallowed a set of rosary beads. His sister, Medjina, originally told officers the two were traveling back home from Haiti to flee 'religious attacks' when her brother got paranoid that one of 'Satan's disciples' followed them onto the plane, the report says. However, in an article posted to Haitian news outlet Le Nouvelliste, she said there was more to the story. Medjina said the two still struggle with the murder of their parents which occurred in the Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince. She said their father killed before Augustin was born and their mother was killed on her way home from work just back in 2023. She also added that Augustin went to Haiti to renew his J-1 visa before heading back to the U.S. to complete his radiology training. According to Medjina, the stress of her brother's studies and worry about his visa combined with these 'spiritual attacks' drove Augustin to what she called his very first mental health crisis. 'What was clearly a medical emergency was tragically mishandled,' Medjina wrote. Medjina added that after he was bailed out of jail following the incident, the siblings tried once again to return to Haiti. However, after prosecutors succeeded in convincing the court to place him back in custody, FBI agent Savannah Solomon alerted Medjina his bond was denied, per WTOC. He was then arrested again at this flight leaving Atlanta. He's being held in custody at Coffee County Jail. That's not all. The report says his visa also expired, putting him at risk of an ICE hold. He currently faces federal charges of interference with flight crew as well as state charges of battery, obstruction and criminal damage to property. EXCLUSIVE Shocking new revelations about crazed plane passenger who ate ROSARY BEADS on flight
A crazed plane passenger who devoured a set of rosary beads on an American Airlines flight is a Haitian doctor whose mother and father were both murdered. Delange Augustin, 31, was arrested last month after he lashed out just one minute into a flight from Savannah, Georgia, to Miami, Florida. Augustin, a radiologist, had been traveling with his sister Medjina, who told authorities at the time that they were going to Haiti to 'flee religious attacks of a spiritual nature'. Other passengers had to restrain him after he lashed out a flight attendant, before authorities boarded the flight when the pilot quickly returned to Savannah. Medjina has since had an article she wrote about her brother published in Haitian outlet Le Nouvelliste. She says that after being released on bail last month the siblings attempted again to return to Haiti, only for Augustin to be jailed again in Georgia after a separate violent outburst before another flight. Medjina said Augustin was being 'unjustly detained' after his violent outburst and held without any help for what she describes as 'his critical mental health needs'. She also described how their two parents had both been murdered in the capital Port-au-Prince, his father was killed days before he was born, while his mother was murdered while returning from work in 2023. According to Medjina, the two were travelling back home in order to renew his J-1 visa before planning to return to the US to complete his radiology training. She said the stress of his studies combined with the worry about his visa sent her brother over the edge. Augustin, according to his sister, has been working at the University of California as part of an observership, he has also been offered to stay as part of a fellowship program - which prompted the trip to Haiti. While on board the flight to Miami, she said he experienced his 'very first' mental health crisis. She had originally told authorities after his arrest that spirits had followed them onboard as they did not want them to make it to Haiti. Mentioning this, she said: 'I initially thought it was a spiritual attack - an interpretation reinforced by my own experiences. 'What was clearly a medical emergency was tragically mishandled', Medjina added. She told authorities that her brother advised her to pray, warning her that: 'Satan's disciples had followed them onto the plane'. Shortly after take off, authorities say he kicked a staff member so hard in the chest he sent them over a row of seats before swallowing a set or rosary beads. Medjina said her brother swallowed the beads to use as 'a weapon of strength in the spiritual warfare' prior to his outburst. Pilots onboard the flight heard the commotion unfolding on the flight and turned the plane around to land back in Savannah - but that didn't halt Augustin's behavior. He started to then punch and kick the seat of the passenger in front of him and kicked a chair until it collapsed. When the official announcement came over the cabin that they would be returning to the airport, Augustin is said to have calmed down. After touching back down and taxiing to the gate, a flight attendant asked everyone to remain seated. That was when he stormed the galley and cornered the flight attendant, all of which was captured on video by a fellow passenger. Medjina said the two were subjected to excessive force, her brother had to be tasered multiple times and was holding onto her hair so hard they had to cut part of it off. 'He was tased twice while in my arms, and in a profoundly traumatic moment, my hair was forcibly cut to separate us', she wrote. 'I too was humiliated, stripped handcuffed and mistreated by a male officer, Medjina added. Prior to boarding, Medjina writes that her brother was stressing over the consular process in Haiti after the US Embassy was shut. 'He was barely sleeping, dedicating his nights to studying. Sleep-deprived and exhausted, he continued his efforts with unmatched dedication', she said. Augustin was then taken into custody by The Chatham County Sheriff's Office and charged with battery, obstruction of law enforcement, and criminal damage. His sister said that he was x-rayed after the incident due to swallowing the beads, but claims a psychiatric evaluation was not carried out. After being released on bail, the two then again tried to make their way back to Haiti, this time on a flight from Atlanta where Medjina says he was arrested again. has been unable to identify exactly why he was arrested again at this time. His sister said he was taken to the Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility in Georgia. It was at this facility that Augustin is said to have been diagnosed with schizophrenia 'and other psychotic disorders', his sister said. She also claimed that during this time her brother was asked to sign documents without legal representation present. He has since been transferred to the Coffee County Jail, in Georgia, where his sister says he remains without any psychiatric help. 'The mishandling of his situation has led to consequences that have been deeply affected his physical, emotional and professional well-being', she said. She added: 'He meditates on Ephesians 4:24 and 5:8, urging us to live "as children of light", facing life's hardships not with despair but with hope and determination.' Speaking with prior to the publication going live, Medjina had spoke of an 'injustice' in her brother's detention but had declined to comment further. She said: 'There has been a great deal of injustice since the time of his arrest, despite the medical report clearly indicating that he was not mentally well at the time of the incident.' has approached the Georgia Department of Corrections for comment. Rob Rosenberg was one of the other passengers who had been on the flight, and spoke with CBS News Miami about the incident. He said: 'He started stomping his feet violently, and heavily. It was kind of a chant he was talking about devils and possession, you kind of had to see it to believe it.'

The agency says U.S. Customs and Border Protection stopped Blaise as she started to board a flight to Charlotte from Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, but didn't have a valid immigrant visa. ICE took custody of her on Feb. 14 and transferred her to facilities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Oakdale, Louisiana, before she ended up at the Broward center in Deerfield Beach. 'What we are seeing is people traveling from the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, potentially even Hawaii, [and] those officers are not understanding these people are not coming from a different country,'said Guerline Jozef, executive director of the Haitian Bridge Alliance, an advocacy group. She added that people with Temporary Protected Status and other legal protections from deportation are 'being detained and transferred to ICE, who are traveling from U.S. territories [and] who should not be flagged as someone entering the U.S. when they are already in the U.S.' Haitians and detention treatment The treatment of Haitians locked up in U.S. immigration detention facilities has been getting increased attention in Haiti. The newspaper Le Nouvelliste in Port-au-Prince posted a story about a prominent doctor, Delange Augustin, who was taken into U.S. custody after he suffered a mental breakdown aboard an American Airlines flight from Atlanta to Miami while returning home after a U.S. fellowship on March 10. Augustin, 31, remains in ICE custody at Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility in Lovejoy, Georgia. In the story the doctor's sister, Medjina Augustin, said her brother remains 'unjustly detained with his critical mental health needs unaddressed.' During the flight, Augustin experienced confusion, hallucinations and erratic behavior, which were all misdiagnosed by the crew and passengers as 'spirit possession' or anxiety. ICE's press release on Blaise's death says: 'Comprehensive medical care is provided from the moment individuals arrive and throughout the entirety of their stay. All people in ICE custody receive medical, dental and mental health screening and 24-hour emergency care at each detention facility.
