Owners Can't Work Out Dog's Escapes—Camera Captures Secret Move

After noticing their 5-month-old puppy continued to escape, one couple set up a camera to find out her secret move, but the video only left them wondering how. Owner Ari, who is known on TikTok as @ and her partner recently welcomed home an Aussiedoodle, a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a poodle. And, as many pet parents realize, they quickly learned their pup has anxiety as she'll scream through the night. Many dogs experience anxiety, a healthy and normal emotion, from time to time. An article from the American Kennel Club reported that some of the most common reasons for a dog's anxiety include separation, fear and aging. About 14 percent of all dogs experience separation anxiety. The couple noticed their puppy escaping her crate, breaking it and chewing through the tray, which are all signs of anxiety. Wanting to get to the bottom of her escape plan, they set up a camera in the room and closed the door, sharing the results in a July 15 TikTok video. The pup realized she was alone and began jumping at the door within seconds. On her third hop, she used her paw to push down the door handle. It was enough to unlatch the door and she slithered her way into the other room. Her owners screeched when they saw she had escaped. Even after rewatching the clip, they asked in the caption: "How did she figure this out on her own?" The couple is now worried she'll soon realize all the doors in the house have the same handle, giving her access to any room she wants. Even sliding doors are not safe in their home, as she managed to figure out how those open too, Ari wrote in a comment. As of Thursday, the TikTok clip had nearly reached half a million views and 27,200 likes. Many viewers didn't seem too shocked by the pup's mastermind, considering she's part Australian shepherd, which is considered one of the smartest dog breeds. Offering an explanation for how, one person commented: "It's because they watch you open the doors and know how they work." Another added: "I have a mini Aussiedoodle also, ESCAPE ARTISTS I swear." Someone suggested: "Set up the knob like it's pointing up." Newsweek reached out to @ via TikTok for additional information and comment. Hysterics As Doodles Have Full-Blown Argument Over Couch: 'This Is My Spot'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A clip of two dogs arguing on the couch over who deserves to sit there has reminded viewers that canines aren't so different from children. In an April 26 TikTok video by user @oakliestorm, a pet parent sat on the couch watching television with two dogs on the opposite end. However, the owner couldn't get true rest and relaxation as the pair of pups started arguing. It turns out that Oaklie, the mini merle bernedoodle, wasn't too thrilled about sharing her spot on the couch. Oaklie sat against the back of the couch. She wanted her paws to spread out in front of her, but the other dog, an Aussiedoodle, prevented that from happening by sitting on the edge, blocking Oaklie's view of the television, and the mini merle bernedoodle was not happy. Oaklie placed her front paws gently on the other dog's back, quietly whining as if to say, "This is my spot." But, when the other canine did not immediately follow her demands, she brought out her big weapon: the back feet. Holding on to the pillows for support, she used her back legs to push against the dog. The other canine wouldn't budge. Just as Oaklie wanted to be comfortable on the couch, so did this dog. Even with enough room for the two of them, they remained adamant about keeping their spot. Newsweek reached out to @oakliestorm via TikTok for additional comment. This is because canines enjoy being in places where they feel safe, comfortable and loved, an article from Wag Walking reported. They especially love being where their owners are located. As pack animals, pups want to stay close and protect their humans. So, if they see their humans curled up on the bed or couch, then they will want to climb up next to them. The video quickly went viral on TikTok, bringing in over 1.7 million views and more than 277,000 likes as of Friday. People were cracking up at how this interaction immediately reminded them of two young siblings fighting. "It's like having toddlers again," commented a viewer, while a second person posted: "AND they say dogs can't talk! Pretty sure he just cussed his sibling out." A third user wrote: "The way he leaned up against the couch for leverage." Others weren't surprised by the dog's demands. One viewer added: "The drama of a doodle who isn't getting their way is unmatched." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
