Form submission of NOU's MCA course extended till Aug 8
Patna: The last date for online submission of applications for admission to the MCA (master of computer applications) course in Nalanda Open University (NOU) has been extended till Aug 8, said its registrar Avay Kumar Singh on Friday. Singh said though the last date for submission of applications for admission to this job-oriented course ended on July 30, it was extended till Aug 8 on the demands of some students who could not apply in time due to delayed publication of their examination results. NOU vice-chancellor Ravindra Kumar said the entrance test for admission to the MCA course would be held on Aug 12 at B N College, Patna. The entrance test will be held from 2pm to 4pm and the candidates will have to reach the examination centre by 1pm on Aug 12. The annual fee for this two-year course is Rs 20,000 for boys and Rs 15,000 for girls. Students who have passed BA, BSc, BCom or BCA examinations and have studied mathematics at intermediate or graduation stage can apply for admission to this course, said course coordinator A N Pandey.

NOU uploads degrees, marksheets to DigiLocker
Patna: Nalanda Open University (NOU) has so far uploaded as many as 25,943 degrees and 41,198 marks sheets of its students to the DigiLocker and the process of digitisation of all the degrees and certificates of students would be completed soon. Stating this in an online meeting held with the govt officials on Tuesday, NOU registrar Avay Kumar Singh said the university has updated the ABC (Academic Bank of Credit) IDs of all students who were admitted in different courses of the university in 2024 and 2025. The university has provided automatic uploading of student's ID at the time of their admission by providing special features in the software, he said. NOU's nodal officer, Kiran Pandey, presented the details of the progress made by the university in connection with the uploading of degrees and certificates to the DigiLocker.

NOU new registrar takes charge
Patna: Professor-in-charge of L N T College, Muzaffarpur, Avay Kumar Singh, on Monday joined as the new registrar (examination) of Nalanda Open University(NOU), replacing Samir Kumar Sharma, who has been appointed registrar of BRA Bihar University. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Singh's appointment was made by governor-cum-chancellor Arif Mohammed Khan in exercise of the powers vested under him under Section 15 of the Nalanda Open University Act, 1995 (as amended upto date). The newly appointed registrar will be co-terminus with the recommending vice-chancellor with maximum tenure up to three years or upto the retirement age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, according to the notification issued by the chancellor's secretariat. In addition to his duties as the registrar (examination), he will also perform the duties of registrar (administration) of the university, the notification said. Following the approval of the new statutes relating to the terms and conditions of service of the registrars of the universities of Bihar in May this year, the registrars of BRA Bihar, Munger and Nalanda Open universities have been replaced by the new incumbents. The statutes drafted by a three-member committee consisting of the vie-chancellors of Jai Prakash Narayan, Nalanda Open and Aryabhatta Knowledge universities and passed by the Bihar State Higher Education Council and the state education department was finally approved by the chancellor. As per the latest statutes, the vice-chancellor of the university concerned would send a panel of three names for the appointment of registrar from which one name would be approved by the chancellor.
