Beloved Local Washington Bakery Is Closing Before End of June
The community in Bellingham, Washington, received an unfortunate update this week regarding a beloved bakery.
Avellino Gluten Free Bakery will officially close its doors this weekend. It's final day of operation will be June 14. The bakery was well-known for its gluten-free pies, pastries and breads.
"It's with a heavy heart we are announcing the closure of Avellino Gluten Free Bakery. This will take effect and be our last day of operation, Saturday June 14th," the all-natural bakery said in a Facebook post. "If you or anyone you know is interested in purchasing a fully functioning gluten free bakery please reach out. If you are interested in purchasing any equipment please reach out. We have stainless steel tables, shelving, display cases, mixers, a range, rotating pita oven, commercial fridge, commercial freezer, display freezer and various utensils and miscellaneous baking item.
"Thank you to all our patrons over the years we really are saddened to have to close shop."
This decision will not impact Avellino Gluten Free Bakery's sister business, Avellino Coffee House.
"Please note this closure does NOT affect Avellino Coffeehouse, and we have no plans to stop serving the community any time soon. We love the community and as seasons come and go, so do businesses. While we will miss Avellino Gluten Free, we are looking forward to what lies ahead."
Avellino Gluten Free Bakery is usually open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. On Saturdays, however, customers are served until noon.
Several Facebook users made it clear they'll visit Avellino Gluten Free Bakery before this week is over.
