Sidwell Friends wins first lacrosse title in 17 years; South Lakes runs into postseason
After Sidwell Friends senior Avery Coleman scored in the final minute of the Independent School League A division championship game on Saturday, she was immediately swarmed by a pack of teammates. They could feel the title at their fingertips.
Coleman found the back of the net with 15.7 seconds left to put the Quakers up, 9-8, over Bullis. It was her 110th goal of the season and the 324th of her high school career.
