Authorities save life of child under ‘Op Sanjivani'

Kanpur: The district administration's effort proved successful when the life of a one and a half year old child was saved under "Operation Sanjivani". One and eight month old child, named Kapil of Mahua Purwa village in Ghatampur tehsil fell into a rain water filled pit. He was unconscious but was breathing. Around 7 am, SDM Ghatampur Avichal Pratap Singh received a call from Kapil's family urging him to save the life of their minor son. The SDM took cognizance and managed the family and the victim's visit to Hamirpur hospital where the doctors referred the child to the LLR hospital Kanpur as he was in a critical stage. The SDM then contacted DM Jitendra Pratap Singh who directed ACP Ghatampur Krishna Kant to make a green passage for the ambulance from Hamirpur to LLR hospital. He also directed the CMO to get ready an emergency team of doctors at the LLR hospital. The ambulance reached from Hamirpur hospital to LLR hospital in one and a half hours without any break. During this period, the SDM had been in continuous touch with the family members, consoling them and informing them of the status of the ambulance to a team of doctors. As soon as the ambulance reached LLR hospital, a team of emergency doctors took control and started treatment of Kapil. After around 40 minutes, the boy regained his senses, and the doctors declared that he was now out of danger. 1 2 3 4 Kanpur: Relief and rescue operations continued vigorously on Saturday in the flood-affected villages of Ghatampur tehsil. Under the supervision of district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh and ADM (Finance and Revenue) Vivek Chaturvedi, relief is being continuously provided to the affected villages according to government standards. On Saturday morning, the administration distributed snacks of chickpeas and porridge in the villages of Katri, Katar, Gadatha, Hardauli, and Mahuapurwa. Fresh meals prepared by the community kitchen were delivered to those affected. In the afternoon, lunch consisting of puri, vegetables, lentils, and rice was provided to people at safe locations via boats and PAC boats. Adequate arrangements for dinner were also made. In the afternoon, MP Devendra Singh Bhole, along with the revenue and police teams, visited Gadatha village where he distributed mineral water, milk packets, biscuits, candles, and mosquito repellent incense to the flood-affected families using a motorboat. The MP also reviewed the relief arrangements made by the administration. Currently, the water level is continuously decreasing. Arrangements for vaccination and medicines for animals have been made in the flood-affected areas.
