Fan pleasantly surprised with Sheamus' football knowledge on YouTube show
Football shirts are everywhere these days. The rise in 'blokecore' and various brands and cultural icons like Oasis and Guinness doing collabs with Bohemian FC recently is evident that football shirts are more popular than ever. It's lead to some popular shows on YouTube based around old school jerseys, none more popular than Shirt Shopping on the Away Days channel. In the latest edition of the show presenter Ellis Platten was joined by WWE superstar and Dublin legend Sheamus in the Classic Football Shirts store in New York City. Sheamus is an avid Liverpool fan and has been a growing personality on the NBC's Premier League coverage in recent years as England's top league continues to grow stateside. Rebecca Lowe, Sheamus and Tim Howard attend The Premier League Fan Fest at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Pic:However this time the Cabra-man got to show off more of his impressive footy knowledge. He spent the opening part of the episode showing off an array of stars that he remembered from the Serie A in the 90's like Roberto Baggio, Attilio Lombardo and his personal favourite former Inter and Uruguayan defender Ruben Sosa. Hen then went on and spoke avidly about his tastes in sponsors on shirts, being an advocate against gambling sponsors which are prevelent in the Premier League today and also having a disdain for Ireland jerseys having the likes of Eircom and Opel sponsored across them, feeling a National side shouldn't have sponsors. Sheamus reminiscing about 1990's Serie A. Pic: Away Days/YouTube It was refreshing to see Sheamus in a new light, outside of putting on banger after banger in a WWE ring. He went down as a fan favourite online with one commenter on YouTube began sharing the love; 'I love Big Shamo anyway, but now knowing he knows ball restores my faith in mankind.' 'Sheamus's knowledge of players and football is unreal just banging out names like he watched them yesterday' another added. 'Honestly blown away by this episode, Sheamus' knowledge of shirts and football in general really surprised me for some reason but it was awesome to listen to and feeling his passion come through the screen' said another commenter on YouTube as fans were delighted to see the former four-time World Champion. Lastly one fan on X was happy to see the WWE legend speak out against Gambling sponsors, commenting; 'Sheamus really knew his 90s football and great to hear him preach about gambling sponsors and other kit bugbears.' Sheamus rocking an away Ireland jersey from 1994. Pic: Away Days/YouTube Sheamus will be returning to his hometown in less than two weeks as Smackdown comes to Dublin for the first time ever. It will be the first time Dublin has hosted a WWE live event and it's set to be a star-studded event. Irish heroes like Sheamus and Becky Lynch will be available for meet and greets meanwhile new WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will be on the show and it will also mark the last time John Cena will be on a WWE show in Ireland as the 'Greatest of All Time' is set to retire at the end of this year.

Who is George Clarke? Latest Strictly Come Dancing star's unexpected rise to fame
Some BBC viewers will be introduced to TikTok star George Clarke, who hosts the Useless Hotline with Max Balegde, for the first time when he competes on Strictly Come Dancing 2025 George Clarke will be competing on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing after being unveiled as part of the line-up this week. He's the sixth celebrity to be named as a contestant for this year's edition of the BBC show. The content creator, 25, also known as George Clarkey, said in a statement: "Never thought I'd say this … but I'm doing Strictly! Honestly, I've got no idea what I'm doing but I'm excited to get stuck in ... and potentially fall over a fair bit." George is best known for his work on social media and as the host of the Useless Hotline podcast, which has more than a 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. On his own, he has more than 2 million followers on his TikTok page alone. George's TikTok account dates back six years but he has spoken about how one particular series on his page in 2021 led to the biggest increase in followers. It showed him trying to figure out the cause of a "beeping noise" in his garage, with the first of those videos now having 2.4 million views. Speaking about the impact of it, he said in an interview for AwayDays that was released on YouTube earlier this year: "People for some reason just lapped it up." George said that he got 250,000 followers in a week from the first video. He shared that his parents had been prepared to support him, even before that success, whilst he pursued a career as a content creator after leaving university. He said: "At that point of my life, I don't really know what I was doing." George, who said that he hadn't shared his TikTok page with family initially, recalled his dad finding his account years ago. He said that they then had a conversation about it, which included him receiving the blessing of his parents over it. In the interview uploaded earlier this year, George said he was told that his parents had noticed he was "doing quite well" on TikTok and recalled his dad saying to him: "We'll happily support you if you keeps going up. Obviously if it starts to tail off you need to finish yourself a job." George said that he filmed the beep series some time after that. His content on the platform now ranges from comedy skits to promotional posts for brands. He also collaborates with fellow content creators like Arthur Hill, Isaac Smith, better known as ItalianBach, and ArthurTV's Arthur Frederick. Since his rise to fame on social media, George has ventured in the podcast industry. He's known for fronting the Useless Hotline with fellow TikTok star Max Balegde, with the pair co-hosting the podcast since it launched in 2022. George and Max address dilemmas, talk about their lives and interview celebrities on the podcast. Guests in episodes released in recent months having included comedian Katherine Ryan and Celebrity Big Brother 's JoJo Siwa. Earlier this year, George, who has 600,000 subscribers on his own YouTube channel, appeared on the second series of the competition Inside, launched by the Sidemen. The Netflix show invited content creators to take on a series of challenges.

Rob McElhenney asks if Celtic are protestant or catholic when donning retro kit
Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenny donned a retro Celtic strip during a trip to a specialist store as he received a quick crash course on their history. The Always Sunny in Phildelaphia star has been celebrating along with fellow Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds after the Welsh club secured a second successive promotion by beating Charlton at the weekend and are now potentially one season away from the Premier League. Wrexham will now play in the Championship next season, leaving the mega stars potentially just one campaign away from realising their English Premier League dream. But as McElhenney browsed the classic shirts at AwayDays, he picked out the Hoops home shirt from the infamous 2004/05 season - the one they wore on Helicopter Sunday when a last day defeat to Motherwell handed the Premiership title to Rangers. Martin O'Neill went on to lift the Scottish Cup the following week, but it's events at Fir Park which still linger in the collective Old Firm memories. Of course, McElhenney would hardly be aware of the last day title drama in Scotland 20 years ago, saying: "Oh gosh! I might go with this, just because it's Celtic and it's got Irish links. It's just cool. Carling." McElhenney then tries it on before asking the big questions: "Celtic, who are their main rivals? Rangers? Is it like Ireland where one is Catholic and one is Protestant? And which one is this?" When the AwayDays rep tells him he's wearing the 'Catholic one', a relieved McElhenney replies: "I'm good."
