Located in Mont Kiara, Eurocampus KL - one of only six such campuses globally - brings together the Lycée Français de Kuala Lumpur (LFKL) and the Deutsche Schule Kuala Lumpur (DSKL), which operate side by side on the same grounds while maintaining their respective curricula and identities. French Ambassador to Malaysia Axel Cruau, in his remarks at the launch ceremony, said the Eurocampus reflects the strength of the Franco-German partnership and its significance for Malaysia. bootstrap slideshow He said the campus meets the growing demand for quality international education and reflects a shared ambition to nurture talent across ASEAN. He described the Eurocampus as the start of a renewed educational vision between France, Germany and Malaysia. 'The Eurocampus is a living example of what we can achieve through shared trust and vision. It serves our communities, contributes to the building of Europe, and adds value here in Malaysia,' he said. Cruau said the campus is the outcome of a collective commitment, including both school boards and the embassies, and expressed his gratitude to the Malaysian government for its support. German Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Peter Blomeyer called the launch 'a truly good morning,' noting it had taken four years of ideas, discussions and goodwill to bring the vision to life. 'Our German and French children can now attend school together here. And more than just learning, they are encountering one another - this is how understanding is built,' he said.

France And Malaysia Enjoy Strong, Growing Ties -- Ambassador Cruau

KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 — The French Ambassador to Malaysia, Axel Cruau, during an interview with Bernama at Wisma Bernama recently. -- fotoBERNAMA (2025) COPYRIGHT RESERVED By Rohani Mohd Ibrahim KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) -- France and Malaysia are enjoying a strong and growing relationship, marked by renewed momentum and deepening cooperation, said French Ambassador to Malaysia Axel Cruau. He expressed optimism that both nations will continue to build on this positive trajectory, especially with the resumption of direct Malaysia Airlines flights between the two countries in March this year. bootstrap slideshow 'I really hope for very good interactions and more visits between the leaders of both countries. France will be able to offer Malaysia more solutions to meet its needs,' Cruau said during an interview on Bernama TV's The Nation programme Diplomatic Dispatch, broadcast on Tuesday. 'France wants to be partners with Malaysia. I feel that we already are in some key areas,' he added. Speaking to Bernama after the programme, Cruau noted that before the reinstated direct flights, passengers from France had to transit via Amsterdam or Singapore to reach Malaysia, which was time-consuming. 'Now, the direct flights from France to Malaysia are always full. Beyond tourism, it helps a lot for business people,' he said, stressing the broader impact on economic and people-to-people connectivity. Looking ahead, Cruau said he hopes leaders from both countries will be able to deepen conversation between the two countries regarding 'people-to-people, army-to-army, training, procurement and equipment.' Referring to people-to-people ties between the two countries, the ambassador said next month will see a French Innovation Day held here, focusing on AI. Another upcoming event is French Gastronomy in October, which he said would also bring France closer to Malaysia.

France calls on Malaysia to join UN conference on Palestine two-state solution

KUALA LUMPUR: France has called on Malaysia to participate in a landmark United Nations conference on the two-state solution for Palestine, co-organised by Paris and Riyadh, set to take place in New York from June 2 to 4. French Ambassador to Malaysia Axel Cruau said an official invitation has been extended to Malaysia. Paris hopes that Malaysia – known for its vocal support of Palestine and its current role as the Asean Chair – will lend its voice to the global push for lasting peace in the region. "Now (Paris) is awaiting the feedback (from Kuala Lumpur)," Cruau told Bernama in an interview at Wisma Bernama recently. "Malaysia is a strong voice for Palestine and worldwide and is the Chair of Asean. So we (France) really want Malaysia to participate in the discussion on the solution. "France wants to work more politically with Malaysia on world crises such as Palestine. There will be no way out (for Palestine) without a two-state solution," he said. Cruau said France needs as many participants as possible in the upcoming conference to bring peace to Palestine. According to the website, the conference's main aim is to obtain the recognition of a Palestinian state from UN member states. The website said that on April 9, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that the recognition of a Palestinian state was one of the conference's goals. The website added that Macron also signalled France's intention to recognise a Palestinian state. Malaysia has been firm in fighting for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital and Palestine's rightful place as a full member of the United Nations. On May 7, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa declared the Gaza Strip a famine zone and called on the entire UN system to immediately activate its mechanisms. Mustafa also called on all UN member states to take urgent action in accordance with their obligations under international humanitarian law and to recognise the catastrophe and famine. Since Oct 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging an ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of more than 52,600 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 118,752 others. – Bernama
