Collector Conducts Surprise Visit to Anganwadi Center, Emphasizes Timely Nutrition and Child Welfare
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh emphasized the importance of ensuring timely delivery of nutritious food to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and young children through Anganwadi centers. On Tuesday, the Collector conducted a surprise inspection at the Anganwadi center located in Ganjipet area of Gadwal town. During the visit, he interacted with staff and inquired about the services being provided to the children and mothers at the center. He also engaged children in learning English alphabets and appreciated their responses, stating that the goal should be to enable every child to confidently participate and learn. The Collector stressed the importance of providing quality foundational education to children to strengthen their early learning. He personally checked the height and weight of the children, advising staff to pay special attention to those showing signs of undernutrition. He examined the mobile application used for data entry and directed the Anganwadi teacher to ensure accurate and systematic recording of information as per guidelines. Highlighting the importance of preventing nutritional deficiencies such as SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition) and MAM (Moderate Acute Malnutrition), he instructed that children be given a balanced and adequate diet to maintain good health. Further, the Collector urged regular updates on nutrition-related information using the Poshan Tracker and NHFS (National Health and Family Survey) mobile apps. He also emphasized continuous monitoring of the health of pregnant women and educating them on the importance of nutritional intake during pregnancy. He instructed that all necessary amenities including proper food, hygiene, and basic facilities be maintained to ensure that children at Anganwadi centers do not face any hardships. The centers must be run efficiently and effectively for the well-being of all beneficiaries. Anganwadi teachers Razia, Lakshmi, and Narasimha, among others, participated in the program.

District to Host Talent Competitions for Students Ahead of Independence Day: Collector Santosh Releases Brochure.
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh stated that student participation in talent competitions plays a key role in awakening awareness and creativity among students. He made these remarks during the release of a brochure for upcoming talent competitions organized under the auspices of the Praja Natya Mandali District Committee. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, Praja Natya Mandali is conducting various talent competitions under the theme "Let's Show Our Patriotism" to instill patriotic values in students across the district. Speaking on the occasion at his chamber on Monday, Collector Santosh highlighted the importance of organizing engaging talent-based activities to help students overcome academic stress. He encouraged all students to actively take part in these competitions and strive for success. According to the organizers, the competitions are scheduled as follows: On August 6 and 7, for high school students, contests will be held in drawing, singing, essay writing, and elocution. On August 5 and 8, intermediate students can participate in elocution and singing competitions. Collector Issues Memo to KGBV Headmistress for Neglecting Nutritious Meal Standards in Gonupadu
Gadwal: District Collector issued strict warnings and directed the issuance of a memo to the headmistress of the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Gonupadu village, Gadwal Mandal, for failing to provide mid-day meals as per the prescribed nutritional menu. During a surprise inspection on Wednesday, the Collector reviewed various aspects of the school including classrooms, kitchen facilities, drinking water supply, mid-day meal quality, and overall hygiene of the premises. He personally interacted with the students and encouraged them to focus on their studies and aim for academic excellence from an early stage. He also verified the attendance register during his visit. The Collector emphasized the importance of student attendance and advised teachers to identify students lagging in subjects and implement corrective academic measures. Noting the non-compliance with the meal menu, he instructed officials to issue a memo to the school's headmistress for negligence. He stated that nutritious meals must be provided daily as per the approved menu to ensure the health and well-being of students. He insisted that only fresh vegetables and quality ingredients be used for cooking and that the kitchen area and utensils remain clean at all times. Collector Santosh underscored that students deserve quality education, hygienic and tasty food, and good health, and warned that negligence in any of these aspects would not be tolerated. He also directed the school to make daily use of the Facial Recognition System for real-time monitoring of student attendance and to update UDISE entries on time. Additionally, he stressed that the school surroundings must be kept clean and sanitary at all times. The inspection was attended by school staff, students, and local officials. The visit highlights the administration's commitment to improving the quality of education and student welfare in government-run institutions.

Telangana Government Prioritizes Women's Empowerment Through Welfare Schemes in Maldakal
Gadwal: The Telangana State Government is implementing numerous welfare schemes aimed at the empowerment and development of women, and every woman must take advantage of these opportunities for her growth, said District Collector B.M. Santosh. On Tuesday, the Collector, along with Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, participated in the 'Indira Mahila Shakti' and ration card distribution program organized by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) at the Maldakal Mandal headquarters. Addressing the gathering, Collector Santosh stated that the state government is prioritizing women's economic empowerment through various schemes. He highlighted that over 600 women's self-help groups (SHGs) are actively functioning in Maldakal Mandal, with more than 8,000 women as members. He encouraged more women to join these groups to benefit from interest-free loans, livelihood opportunities, rice procurement centers, and uniform stitching units. The Collector noted that last year, SHGs in the mandal received loans totaling ₹26 crores, and this year, ₹72 lakhs in interest was waived. An additional ₹4.36 lakhs were sanctioned for uniform stitching initiatives. To further enhance livelihood opportunities for rural women, the government released an Enterprise Grounding Amount of ₹15.80 crores. He also announced plans to establish a petrol pump and a 1-megawatt solar power plant in the mandal with an investment of ₹3 crores, creating more income-generating avenues for women. The ration card distribution program saw over 900 new cards issued in Maldakal. The Collector assured that every application is being reviewed at the field level and that the concerned departments are working diligently to resolve issues. He urged beneficiaries to use their free ration responsibly and warned against diverting it to the black market. He added that schemes like Indiramma Housing, Rythu Bharosa, free bus travel for women, and solar power projects are being made accessible to all. He encouraged women to make full use of these programs for their progress. Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy emphasized that the government is giving special priority to women's welfare by implementing a wide range of schemes. Through the Maha Lakshmi Scheme, women now benefit from free bus travel, increased Aarogyasri coverage up to ₹10 lakhs, subsidized LPG cylinders at ₹500, and 200 units of free electricity. He added that Indiramma houses are now being sanctioned in the names of women, and SHGs are being empowered to manage solar power plants, rental buses, petrol pumps, rice mills, and tailoring units. With a vision of turning one crore women into millionaires, the government is providing interest-free loans and multiple income avenues, he said. The MLA assured that every eligible person would receive a ration card and every poor family a house. He also reaffirmed the government's commitment to ongoing infrastructure improvements in Maldakal, including irrigation canals, drinking water facilities, roads, healthcare, and education. The event was attended by Additional Collectors Lakshmi Narayana and Narsinga Rao, local officials, women SHG members, community representatives, and residents.

District Collector Urges Students to Pursue Education with Discipline to Achieve Great Heights
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh emphasized that students who attend classes regularly with discipline and dedication can rise to great heights in life. On Tuesday, the Collector made a surprise inspection of the Zilla Parishad High School in Maladkal mandal. During the visit, he inspected classrooms, school surroundings, the midday meal facilities, food quality, science lab, and other amenities. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector stated that the government is giving utmost priority to the education sector. He stressed that every student studying in government schools should receive quality education along with nutritious food as per the prescribed menu. The Collector added that necessary facilities, teacher appointments, quality teaching, and infrastructure are being provided to ensure this. He urged teachers to pay special attention to students' academic abilities and health, and to ensure that students attend school regularly. 'If students listen attentively to their teachers and practice with discipline, even an average student can become an IAS officer, a scientist, or a leader guiding society,' said the Collector. He noted that there are 104 students enrolled in 10th grade this academic year and expressed the goal that all should pass and achieve 100% results. Expressing disappointment that no student scored above 540 marks last year, he motivated the students to perform better this year. He also announced that those achieving top scores will be felicitated at district-level programs. The Collector encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities provided by the government and move forward with a clear plan. He expressed happiness that the school was selected under the PM SHRI scheme and assured that all required facilities for the students' welfare would be provided. Teachers were instructed to conduct special classes to ensure that students thoroughly understand their lessons. Additionally, the quality of food served must be mandatorily verified by the school's quality committee before being distributed. The Collector also highlighted that while the district stood 32nd in the state rankings last year, it has now improved to 23rd position, with a goal to reach at least 15th place next year. He pointed out that many renowned individuals have risen to prominence from government schools, including from the Government Boys' School in Gadwal. He concluded by encouraging students to dream big and take small, consistent steps every day toward achieving their goals. The event was attended by Mandal Education Officer Mr. Suresh, School Coordinator Ms. Esther Rani, teachers, and others.
