Traditional Chinese culture has been progressing in Brunei, where it continues to be passed down and developed, becoming a bridge that connects the hearts of the people. Among the platforms supporting this cause, the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Association has played a significant role in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship, he said as the guest of honour at the appreciation ceremony for the conclusion of the Brunei-Tenom-Limbang Chinese calligraphy competition. 'Tonight, we gather in friendship through culture and connected through art. In doing so, we not only carry forward the Chinese cultural tradition but also infuse it with new vitality for the times,' he added. 'Earlier this year, His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah paid a state visit to China, during which both heads of state reached important consensus on jointly building a China-Brunei community with a shared future.' The ambassador added; 'At the recent Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs with Neighbouring Countries, President Xi Jinping put forward important instructions for advancing this vision, providing clear direction for China's exchanges and cooperation with neighbouring countries, including Brunei. 'The Chinese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam stands ready to work with friends from all sectors in Brunei to further elevate China-Brunei cultural exchanges and jointly paint a bright picture of enduring friendship.' The ambassador also toured the traditional Chinese culture on display including calligraphy, paintings, Chinese chess, and Chinese tea tradition. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
