Shoppers run to TK Maxx as solar lights hit shelves from £3.99 & there's a new version of the viral hot air balloon buy

Abigail Wilson, Senior Digital Writer Published: Invalid Date, BARGAIN hunters are racing to get to their nearest TK Maxx store, desperate to nab new solar lights that have recently hit shelves. Solar lights have been all the rage over the last few months, with shoppers eagerly flocking to Asda, B&M and Home Bargains to stock up in time for summer. 3 3 3 But now, TK Maxx has cashed in on the incredibly popular trend - and have even released their very own version of the viral hot air balloon lights that sent shoppers wild just days ago. One savvy shopper was recently left gobsmacked when browsing the aisles in her local TK Maxx, when she spotted the brand new affordable finds. Eager to alert others to the purse-friendly products, Catherine Jacinto Dela Cruz took to social media to give a close-up look at the chain's new products, which start from just £3.99. Posting on BARGAIN LOVERS Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Range & More, a public Facebook group with 835,300 members, Catherine uploaded a picture of the large selection of solar lights and simply penned: 'Solar powered lights at TK Maxx.' Not only can shoppers now get their hands on a pack of 10 Glowworm LED Metal Diamond String Lights for just £3.99, but there's even a Colour Changing LED Solar Crackle Ball on the shelves too. If you really want to add style to your outside space, shoppers are sure to be stunned by the solar powered Spiralight, which is priced at just £7.99 and if you ask us, is the perfect garden feature for balmy nights. As well as this, there's also a pack of 100 Firefly String Lights, that are bound to brighten up your space and leave your guests (and eagle-eyed neighbours) impressed. But that's not all, as there's even a pack of four Fairy Mushroom Stake Lights, that will turn your garden into a lush oasis in a matter of seconds. As part of TK Maxx's £12.99 and under range, shoppers will also find a pack of Triple Starburst String Lights, as well as a Starburst Stake Light. Also in this range, shoppers can nab the Eureka Festoons, which are great for adding colour to a dull space. Beautiful garden pieces in Home Bargains that'll transform your outdoor haven There's also the Eureka Orbs, that are brilliant for those looking to ensure your space feels luxe. And if you thought that was it, prepare to be open-mouthed when you see the SkyRunner String Lights. Not only do they look strikingly similar to the hot air balloon solar lights that sent many wild recently, but they have also been hailed as 'perfect for adding a burst of colour' to your home or garden. How Does TK Maxx Flog Designer for Cheap? TK Maxx follows an off-price business model to get designer products for cheap It buys merchandise from various brands and designers at a discount and then sells it to customers at lower prices than traditional retail stores The selection at its outlets often includes overstocked items, last season's styles and goods from cancelled orders. The Gold Label is a premium collection of designer and luxury products offered by TK Maxx. If you love designer clothes, this is the tag you want to look out for on pieces. The hot air balloon string lights are currently available to buy from B&Q for £18.99, but those on a budget will be pleased to know that they are part of TK Maxx's £12.99 and under range. They are said to provide "decor by day" and "light by night" and are spot on for those looking to create a "unique statement". Not only does the "intelligent technology" ensure the lights automatically switch on at dusk and then off at dawn, but they can be hung from trees or fences for the ultimate, magical effect. But you'll need to move fast if you want to get your hands on these purse-friendly buys, as like everything in TK Maxx, they will be available while stocks last and are sure to sell out fast.

I transformed a £10.50 Aldi buy into a ‘jaw-dropping' garden feature & people think it's ‘really impressive'

A DIY enthusiast has shared the simple way she transformed a £10.50 Aldi buy into a jaw-dropping garden feature. So if you want to add some style to your garden for spring but your purse is feeling tighter than ever before, then you've come to the right place. 3 3 3 Laura Trott, a savvy DIY fan from the UK, used bargain buys from Amazon and Home Bargains to give an Aldi planter a new lease of life. Rather than put a plant in the planter, Laura made her own faux fish pond - and we think it looks fabulous. Eager to show off her DIY creation, Laura took to social media, sharing a breakdown of the costs of her purse-friendly project. Posting on BARGAIN LOVERS Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Range & More, a public Facebook group with 835,300 members, Laura uploaded snaps of the Aldi planter, which she transformed with faux fish, a faux lily pad, a solar water fountain and stones. Alongside her post, Laura penned: 'I turned this £10 Aldi UK planter into a faux fish pond.' The bargain hunter confirmed that she nabbed the planter from Aldi for £10.50, which she filled with faux fish that she ordered from Amazon for £5.99. As well as this, she also added in a lily pad which she got from Amazon for £3.50 and also completed the feature with a solar water fountain, which was also from Amazon for £18.50. Laura explained that you can buy solar water fountains from just £8 online, but she opted for a slightly more expensive one that lights up at night. As well as this, she also added in stones that she got for just £4.50 from Home Bargains. While many garden features similar to this retail anywhere from £56 to £180 online, Laura spent just £42.99 in total on hers, making her DIY project a real steal. Mrs Hinch raves about £2 Home Bargains buy that 'adds charm to your garden' & a £10 product that's 'cheaper than Amazon' And it's clear that Laura's faux fish pond has left many very impressed, as her post has quickly racked up 1,100 likes and 512 comments. Users eagerly raced to the comments to praise the 'jaw-dropping' feature, which many thought looked 'beautiful'. Garden features that add the most value to a house A well-kept garden can add anywhere between 5-20% to the value of a property. carried out a study and consulted 36 estate agents, garden designers and property professionals from across the UK. And the experts revealed the garden feature which adds the most value to a property is a shed. Shed - 82% Patio or paving - 76% Secure fencing, walls or gates - 72% Outdoor lighting - 66% Sturdy decking - 62% Water features eg. fountain or pond - 58% Modern garden furniture - 54% Artificial lawn/grass - 40% One person said: 'Love it!! I'm going to do it with my boys! Thank you!' Another added: 'Really impressive.' A third commented: 'So cute.' Meanwhile, someone else beamed: 'Truly amazingly beautifully beautiful.' Tricyrtis A spectacular plant that gives a real exotic feel to any garden with its orchid-like, spotted flowers giving the impression that this plant should be tender but it is 'as tough as old boots!'. Penstemon I love this plants genus of because most will flower all summer and autumn. They'll grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained soil and produce a non-stop display of tubular flowers in an array of colours and colour combination to suit all tastes. Luzula sylvatica 'Marginata' With the evergreen leaves edged with yellow it's great asset is that it will grow in sun or shade in any type of soil and is great as groundcover in the hardest spot to fill - dry shade. Eryngium x zabelii 'Big Blue' A stunning, nectar-rich plant that will feed the beneficial insects in your garden. Leave the flowerheads once they have turned brown because they look stunning with winter frost and snow, extending the plant's interest period. Sarcococca hookeriana 'Winter Gem' If you need winter scent then look no further than this compact, evergreen shrub. The scent is stunning and the evergreen leaves create an excellent backdrop for the summer flowers. Cornus sanguinea 'Anny's Winter Orange' A dwarf version of 'Midwinter Fire' the very colourful stems create a stunning winter display, particularly on sunny days. Rosa 'Noisette Carnee' A very well-behaved climbing rose that is perfect for training over an arch, pergola or gazebo. The small, 'noisette' flowers are blush-pink and produce the most amazing clove scent constantly from June to November. Sanguisorba hakusanensis 'Lilac Squirrel' I've never seen a squirrel with a drooping, shaggy lilac tail, but this variety will give your garden an unusual and different look throughout summer. It does need a moisture retentive soil but will grow in sun or semi-shade.

Top gardening trends of 2025 Gardening experts at Barnsdale Gardens has shared the top gardening trends of 2025. Matrix planting It seems that a top planting trend for this year is going to be Matrix Planting. In essence, planting in groups or blocks to give an effect of being wild whilst actually being carefully managed. Selection of the plants is essential, to give year-round interest either with flowers, seed heads or frosted/snowy spent flower heads. Some recommend using plants that seed around, but this could make managing your matrix planting harder to keep under control. Chrysanthemum comeback I hope that the humble Chrysanthemum makes as much of a comeback this year as Dahlias have over recent years, because the simple single flowered types, such as 'Innocence' and 'Cottage Apricot' would be spectacular within a matrix scheme. The hardy varieties are so easy to grow in a sunny spot and give such a valuable burst of late summer and autumn colour that would lift any dull- looking border. Blended borders For some time now we have been promoting the growing of veg within ornamental borders and I think this could really take off this year. The choice of ornamental-looking varieties available in seed catalogues is phenomenal and, if managed correctly, visitors to your garden will not even realise that you have veg growing! Must-have tool My secret is out. I discovered the Hori Hori a couple of years ago and now it seems so is everyone else. It is such a well-made, adaptable tool that can be used as a trowel or weeding tool in the garden that and everyone I speak to who have used it absolutely would not now be without it. Enough said! Bargain hunters beam But you'll need to move fast if you want to get your hands on this new Firefly buy, as Collette's post has clearly left many stunned, as it has quickly racked up 508 likes and 230 comments in just 13 hours. One person said: 'Absolutely stunning!!' Oh dear I promised myself I wasn't buying anymore solar lights because I've got loads. Looks like I'll be buying more now Facebook user Another added: 'So pretty!' A third commented: 'I need some!' Not only this, but someone else beamed: 'Oh dear I promised myself I wasn't buying anymore solar lights because I've got loads. Looks like I'll be buying more now.' At the same time, many shoppers who have already managed to stock up on the affordable lights rushed to share their rave reviews. One Home Bargains fan posted: 'They are so pretty. I have loads.' Whilst another chimed in: 'I've got these, they are lovely.'

I couldn't afford a stair runner so used £4 Shein floor mats to get the same look – they're bouncy, soft & look amazing

A WOMAN has revealed that she couldn't afford to splash the cash on a posh stair runner, so came up with a savvy solution. Kelly Marie, a DIY fan from the UK, was able to add some glamour to her stairs thanks to £4 floor mats from Shein. 2 What were intended to be rectangular anti-slip carpets to glam up a kitchen, have now been used to transform Kelly's stairs - and many have been left very impressed with the cheap and cheerful DIY transformation. Eager to show off her gorgeous stair overhaul, Kelly took to social media to give DIY enthusiasts a close-up look at her home 's affordable makeover. Posting on BARGAIN LOVERS Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Range & More, a public Facebook group with 819,300 members, Kelly uploaded snaps of her stairs, which have been decorated with the black bohemian pattern kitchen floor mats, which are available to order online now for just £4 from Shein. Alongside her post, Kelly beamed: 'Really wanted the stair runner but it was so expensive.' Eager for a more purse-friendly solution, she continued: 'So me and Shein did it for a little over £30 and I absolutely love it..' Kelly then added: 'I do have the underlay from the old carpet under it.. just cut to size so it's super bouncy and soft.' The savvy woman confirmed that she bought three packs of the floor mats and used carpet tacks to stick them down. Rather than splashing the cash on getting a professional in to do the job, Kelly has been able to transform her pad herself, without breaking the bank. We think Kelly's stair transformation is incredibly impressive - and for just £30, it's a great idea for those on a budget. Kelly's DIY post has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 326 likes and 100 comments. Social media users were stunned by Kelly's stair makeover and many eagerly flocked to the comments to express this. One person said: 'Looks amazing, well done.' Another added: ' is gorgeous.' A third commented: 'Wow, that's beautiful.' Meanwhile, someone else chimed in and simply penned: 'LOVE!' However, at the same time, not everyone was as kind, as one user slammed: 'It won't last two minutes.' But to this, Kelly responded and penned: 'Time will tell.' Not only this, but another mean user wrote: 'Hmmm, it's very obviously Shein by its poor quality and very clearly laid by an amateur.' Clearly unbothered by the rude remark, Kelly wrote back and confidently snapped: 'Obviously... I ain't a carpet fitter, but your one comment does not compare to the many good ones! So I take that.'
