Woman and children hit by lorry in 'hit-and-run'

A woman and two children have been hit by a lorry in an alleged hit-and-run in a city, police said. It happened at the junction of Forster Street and Tower Square in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent at about 12:10 BST on Friday. One of the children, a young boy, was treated at the scene for minor injuries and taken to hospital as a precaution, Staffordshire Police said. A spokesperson for the force confirmed the driver of the lorry did not stay at the scene and a cordon was put in place while officers made inquiries. The other vehicle left the scene after the crash and the force said officers were working to identify the driver.
