Morrisons shoppers spot GIANT versions of two iconic biscuits on shelves for just £2

BISCUIT lovers are losing their crumbs over a new supersized treat spotted on Morrisons shelves – and they're just £2 each. One savvy shopper clocked the giant goodies and raced to share the find on a foodie Facebook group. 2 2 They wrote on Newfoodsuk: "Brand new Giant Caramelised Filled Biscuit & Giant Chocolate Filled Biscuit from Morrisons." The post went down a storm, racking up 1.4k reactions and 1.3k comments from fellow sweet-toothed fans. One joked: "About time they made a biscuit big enough to soak up the tea in a Sports Direct mug!" Another chipped in: "Or you could buy the giant biscuits from m and s and spread with caramel." But not everyone was impressed, with some branding the price a bit steep. "2 pound think that's a bit extreme tbh," wrote one user, while another fumed: "Think how many standard sized biscuits you can get for the same cost.... another Morrisons rip-off." Others were quick to point out there's more than one giant biscuit in town – warning shoppers: "Don't be missing out on trying this custard cream!" It comes hot on the heels of M&S causing a stir earlier this summer with its own monster bakes – giant versions of the legendary Custard Cream and Bourbon biscuits. From Percy Pigs to Colin the Caterpillar, M&S is no stranger to whipping shoppers into a frenzy, and these big bikkies were no exception. The nostalgic treats – priced at £3 – had customers rushing to the home baking aisle. Vodka to the Rescue: Morrisons' Unconventional Emergency Tactics Unlike their traditional counterparts, the M&S giants come without filling, encouraging shoppers to pimp them up at home. The supermarket urged fans to 'add layers of ice cream, sprinkles and even a touch of sauce, for a sensational treat' – or even use them in trifles or tiramisu. Social media lit up with excitement, with comments like "Big biscuit news!" and "We need" flooding in. Meanwhile, B&M shoppers are dashing to stores to bag a brand-new twist on a McVitie's classic – for just 85p. The biscuit giant has given one of its best-loved snacks a makeover with the launch of McVitie's Club Layers Orange. A lunchbox favourite for more than a century, the Club has been reimagined into a chocolate-coated wafer bar packed with punchy orange cream. The treat first landed exclusively in Spar on June 30, before rolling out to other retailers – including B&M – from July 21. Fans can expect the same chunky indulgence as the original, but with layers of crisp wafer, zesty cream and a thick milk chocolate coating. How to save money on your supermarket shop THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop. You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they've been reduced. If the food is fresh, you'll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time. Making a list should also save you money, as you'll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket. Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too. This means ditching "finest" or "luxury" products and instead going for "own" or value" type of lines. Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they're misshapen or imperfect. For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50. If you're on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too. Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.

Biscuit company boss sacked for slapping Emmerdale star Gemma Oaten's bum at awards bash after she ‘gave him permission'

A BISCUIT company boss was sacked for slapping Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten's bum at an awards bash, a tribunal heard. Steve Jones claimed the 40-year-old had given him permission for the on-stage slap. 3 3 But a colleague who later saw a video of the incident said it had upset her and referred to the #metoo movement. Jones, who was head of health and safety at McVitie's owner Pladis, was then fired for 'violating morality and decency'. An employment tribunal was told that the incident happened as he volunteered to go on stage to accept a gong won by the company. It was being presented by an actress — not identified at the hearing — and Jones stood next to her and slapped her bottom. The tribunal heard that although Jones had not asked for consent, he told her he had slapped another 'well-known woman's' bum on stage, so the actress said 'go for it'. Hundreds of people had attended the International Safety Awards — organised by the British Safety Council — which took place at the InterContinental Hotel in London' s Park Lane on June 7 last year. A junior colleague of Jones who was at the event — but who did not see the slap — said she was shown a video of the incident and was upset by it. Jones was reported to HR and had a disciplinary hearing the following month for 'physical conduct pertaining to sexual harassment '. He said he had 'nothing to apologise' for and that even the actress 'felt it was appropriate in the context of the evening'. But Jones was sacked over the 'wholly inappropriate' behaviour. Huge Emmerdale star admits she was 'burned' after being snubbed from I'm A Celeb line-up following health battle He was told that entering into a conversation with the presenter before receiving the award was 'ill-judged and had the potential to put any female presenter in a very uncomfortable position'. Gemma, who was in Emmerdale from 2011 to 2015, was not interviewed on the matter. But in a social media post the day after the bash, she told of the 'naughtiness' of the event and said she had a 'bloody good giggle'. Jones had joined Pladia in 2001 as head of health, safety, environment and security. He appealed against his sacking but it was dismissed. He then took it to the tribunal, alleging unfair dismissal. Jones said the views of the actress were 'highly relevant' and that she 'did not feel harassed, was not distressed, and made no complaint'. But the central London tribunal found his conduct had upset colleagues and he was fairly dismissed. The Sun had approached Gemma for comment.
