Man Used AI to Generate a Custom Tune for His BMW 335i

TikTok creator wyattwebsterrr might have just pulled off one of the wildest DIY tuning experiments yet. He recently bought a 2007 BMW 335i for $1,500. Of course, for that price, it wasn't perfect. It sat on 240,000 miles and needed a new transmission, which he paid just $200 for. Other than a straight-pipe exhaust, the BMW was completely stock. Then, he asked ChatGPT to write a custom tune. The result is a beater that would outrun a brand-new BMW 3 Series. Wyatt started with a simple question for ChatGPT: "Can you give me a custom tune for my 335i?" He then supplied the AI with details such as his ECU version, the fact that it has a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the type of turbos it was equipped with. In return, ChatGPT handed over a full custom tune file. Wyatt then used the MHD Tuning app to load the AI's creation straight onto the E90's ECU. Usually, this process would take hours, if not days, when working with a reputable tuner. But thanks to modern technology, it took just a few minutes. People love modifying 335i models because of the N54 engine that lives under the hood. From the factory, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six sends 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Although Wyatt has yet to release all the power figures, he posted a TikTok showing the tuned 335i's new driving experience. Boost pressure jumped to 19.3 psi. The exhaust, once relatively tame, now delivered loud burbles and pops that were impossible to ignore. The rear tyres broke traction much easier than before, and the BMW's 0 to 60 mph time dropped to just 5.17 seconds. That's a full second quicker than before, thanks to a tune written entirely by an AI. Professional tuners spend years learning how to safely squeeze more performance out of an engine, while accounting for wear and tear and long-term reliability. While ChatGPT might be able to make a high-mileage BMW faster, there's always the risk of something breaking. Still, for a cheap 335i and a viral TikTok clip, it is hard to argue that this wasn't worth the gamble. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Multiple people injured in overnight rollover crash in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Multiple people were injured after a vehicle they were in struck a concrete pillar and flipped several times in Chula Vista early Thursday morning. The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. in the area of 900 Marina Parkway, according to the Chula Vista Police Department. Ambulance rides in San Diego just got more expensive — this is why Police responded to the scene after receiving several calls and discovered a black BMW 335i with significant damage. The car was headed eastbound on Marina Parkway before it left the road and hit a concrete pillar, leading it to flip several times, according to police. Images below show emergency personnel and damage to the vehicle at the scene of the crash. Two women and two men were inside the vehicle at the time. The two women, who were seated in the front and back passenger seats, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the two men — the driver and other backseat passenger — were sent to local trauma centers with life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The driver, identified as Blake Todd, 21, was arrested for felony DUI with injury prior to being sent to the hospital, police added. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. Chula Vista police stated that alcohol is believed to be a factor. The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau is currently investigating. Anyone with more information about the collision is asked to contact the bureau at 619-476-5302. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This ‘49 Ford Is Really A Bimmer

Read the full story on Backfire News While it's obvious this '49 Ford Shoebox has been modified, few would expect that under the skin it's really a 2008 BMW 335i. After all, the guy who built this car claims it's the first of its kind and we believe him. This is a crazy project, just the kind we love the would build such a car? A shop called Maniacs Garage, of course. More of a side project than a professional outfit, they stated off with the Ford which had been partially chopped a couple of decades before, but never was finished. Maniacs knew the plan was to swap the '49's body onto a more modern, potent vehicle. When a friend crashed his BMW 335i, they made a move, buying the German coupe off the insurance company, then hacking it apart before dropping the Ford's body onto it. Of course, the fit wasn't perfect but some things worked in the Maniacs' favor. As you can see from the video chronicling the build's progress, everyone had a lot of fun with figuring things out. That always made a tedious project far more enjoyable. What most people have seen is the finished product, which might not look like much to the untrained eye. But we know these guys put in a lot of sweat, blood, and tears into this build. Of course, these guys didn't just leave the E92 BMW completely stock, as you can clearly see with the rather large turbo protruding above the hood. They ditched the small factory snails, replacing them with the beast 62mm Garrett that's both oil and water cooled. Plus, the exhaust exits out of the back of the turbo assembly, adding to the industrial vibe of this build. If you watch the Autotopia LA walkthrough, you get a good rundown on the build details, plus you get to see this ride in action – it's a hoot. But Ford fans aren't going to like this build one bit.
