Mumbai rains LIVE: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis says Mumbai received 177 millimetres of rain in a 6-8 hour period on Monday and asked citizens to observe all precautions since more is expected through the day along with high tides, reports PTI.
Talking to reporters, he said that waterlogging is being witnessed in 14 places in the metropolis.

A man was swept away after he fell into a 'nullah' (major drain) at Blue Diamond Square in Navi Mumbai's Sector 28 around noon, they added.
The man could not be traced despite efforts by the local fire brigade and police personnel due to the strong current in the 'nullah' and continuous rain, a Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation disaster control room official said.

Central Railway CRPO Dr Swapnil Dhanraj Nila said, 'On the main line, the delay is around 8-10 minutes, but it is primarily because of reduced speed on account of reduced visibility due to the heavy rains which are reported at various locations from Karjat to Kalyan, Kasara to Kalyan, as well as Kalyan to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.'

'Around 3-4 stations on harbour line Kurla, Chembur, Tilaknagar are having some issues of waterlogging and the points on these stations have been clamped and the movement of trains is delayed on harbour line by approximately 10-15 minutes,' ANI quoted Central Railway CRPO Dr Swapnil Dhanraj Nila as saying.

According to officials, water accumulated on tracks in a few low-lying areas on the Harbour Line which impacted suburban services on the Central Railway route. Waterlogging made it impossible for trains to change tracks points between Kurla and Tilak Nagar stations, as per PTI report.
