"Come to JK for Amarnath Yatra without fear, worries," urges BJP leader Ravinder Raina
Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 11 (ANI): BJP leader Ravinder Raina on Wednesday urged pilgrims to turn up in large numbers and participate in the annual Amarnath yatra without any hesitation and fears. Speaking to ANI ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, Ravinder Raina said, 'The Amarnath Yatra is going to begin in the coming days. I appeal to all devotees of Amarnath Barfani to come to Kashmir without any hesitation. Khule dil se, bekhauf hokar, nishchint hokar, Amarnath yatra ke liye Kashmir aaiye (Come to Kashmir for Amarnath Yatra with an open heart, without fear and worries).' 'The valley is waiting for its Shiv devotees. This is the Kashmir that has always contributed wholeheartedly to the success of the Amarnath Yatra,' Raina added. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid obeisance to Baba Barfani and performed the 'Pratham Puja' at the holy cave, marking the ceremonial beginning of the annual Amarnath Yatra. On Tuesday, a high-level security meeting chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, Amod Ashok Nagpure, IPS, was held to review preparations and strategise for the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2025, officials said. The meeting was attended by Additional SP Udhampur, SDPOs, DySPs, and SHOs from Udhampur, Majalta, Rehambal, and Chenani, along with other officers involved in the Yatra arrangements. The discussions centred on key aspects such as security arrangements, intelligence sharing, traffic management, medical aid, emergency response, and logistical support. Special focus was laid on anti-narcotics operations. SSP Nagpure directed all officers to remain vigilant and conduct proactive drives to dismantle narco networks operating in the region. He also instructed officers to maintain a high level of alertness and operational readiness throughout the Yatra. Regular review meetings, briefing sessions, and mock drills were stressed to ensure the flawless implementation of all plans and protocols, officials said. The Amarnath Yatra is an annual Hindu pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath Cave Shrine, dedicated to Lord Shiva, located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir (J-K). The cave houses a naturally formed ice Shivling, believed to represent Lord Shiva, and draws lakhs of devotees every year. The Yatra is typically held during the Shravan month (July to August) as per the Hindu calendar, under the supervision of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and with coordinated support from security and civil administration. Srinagar, June 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid obeisance to 'Baba Barfani' and performed 'Pratham Puja' at the holy cave marking the ceremonial beginning of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra on Wednesday. The 38-day-long annual Amarnath Yatra will begin from July 3 to August 9 this year. 'Har Har Mahadev! Paid my obeisance to Baba Barfani and performed the 'Pratham Puja' at the Holy Cave, marking the ceremonial beginning of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. May Baba Amarnathji keep showering his divine blessings on all of us', the Lt Governor posted on X. 'I would request all the devotees of Baba Barfani to visit in large numbers for the Holy Yatra & pray to Mahadev for progress of J&K and the nation', he added. He said that the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and administration have improved the pilgrims' facilities and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, CRPF, and CAPFs have made foolproof security arrangements. The Lieutenant Governor ascertained the progress of the work being carried out at the site and directed the officials for timely completion of the infrastructure projects being developed to enhance facilities for pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. At Domail, the lieutenant governor also interacted with the members of the task taskforce and staff of BRO engaged in improving and maintaining the yatra track. Amarnath Yatra Reduced To 38 Days Amid Tightened Security Measures. Check Details
Last Updated: A total of 581 companies from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) alongside personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police would be deployed during the Amarnath Yatra 2025. The duration of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, the holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva in Jammu and Kashmir, has been reduced to 38 days for the first time, compared to 52 days last year. The annual pilgrimage would commence from July 3 and would culminate on August 9 with added security. A total of 581 companies from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) alongside personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police would be deployed during the Amarnath Yatra 2025. This extensive security has been deployed to ensure the safe passage of devotees during the sacred journey. Security Measures For the first time, jammers would be installed to protect the convoys from potential threats. During the passage of the convoy, all roads leading to the Yatra routes and National Highways will be temporarily blocked to ensure maximum security. Satellite phones will be provided to security personnel. Pilgrims and pony riders will be monitored using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Dedicated PCR vans from the police and CRPF will accompany the yatra. A security audit and digital mapping of all routes have been carried out. The Director General of CRPF personally visited Pahalgam to review the arrangements. In addition to these measures, a comprehensive deployment will include Road Opening Parties (ROPs) to secure and clear the routes, Quick Action Teams (QATs) for immediate response to threats, Bomb Disposal Squads (BDS) will detect and neutralise explosives, and K9 units (specially trained sniffer dogs) and drones will be used for aerial surveillance. These arrangements will be in place on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the Amarnath Cave shrine. On May 30, Union Home Minister Amit Shah instructed all security agencies to maintain high alertness and vigilance to ensure a completely peaceful Amarnath Yatra. In light of recent concerns, particularly the Pahalgam attack, security arrangements have been tightened. So far, over 3.5 lakh people have registered for this year's Amarnath Yatra.
