No arrests yet in Datia ASI suicide case
Bhopal: Two days after booking two police station in charges, a constable and a local man accused of illegal sand mining over the suicide of an assistant sub-inspector in Datia, police are yet to make any arrests. The four were named by ASI Pramod Pawan in a video recorded shortly before his death on July 22. They face charges of abetment to suicide and offences under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. "Investigation is going on, arrests are yet to be made," the additional SP Datia, Sunil Shivhare, told TOI. Those named in the FIR, include Godan police station incharge Arvind Singh Bhadoria, Thorat police station in charge Anfasul Hasan, constable Roop Narayan Yadav, and alleged sand mafia member Arvind alias Bablu Yadav. The FIR was filed after a preliminary investigation and legal review of both the video message and a letter written by the deceased, on July 22, addressed to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Datia. In the letter, ASI Pawan made similar allegations of harassment, illegal sand operations, and caste-based abuse.
