Global ranking for M'luru a pride: MP
Mangaluru: Mangaluru achieved the top position in the list of safest cities in India and was ranked 49th globally, a matter of great joy and pride, said Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta. "This accomplishment not only elevates the status of the coastal region but also enhances Mangaluru's global reputation. In the mid-2025 Safety Index released by Numbeo, the world's largest data collection organisation, Mangaluru was recognised as the safest city in India, topping the list of the country's top 10 safest cities. With a safety index of 74.2, Mangaluru secured the 49th rank among 393 cities worldwide, which is a source of great happiness," said Capt Chowta. "This significant achievement of Mangaluru is not just based on statistics. The cooperation, participation, and civic awareness of all the residents played a major role in shaping Mangaluru into a beautiful and safe city. It is not easy for a city to be recognised as the safest in the entire country due to its infrastructure and civic discipline. This recognition is a testament to the safe and peaceful environment in which the people of Mangaluru live. The accolade received by Mangaluru fills us all with pride and will further encourage the city to progress," the MP said. This global recognition provides an additional reason and opportunity for all successful Mangalureans around the world to consider returning to their roots under the 'Back To Ooru' initiative. It offers a great chance to leverage the vast opportunities and possibilities here. "Mangaluru remains a beloved city for their dreams, ideas, investments, and developmental expectations. ETAG receives approval in record time to build production facility in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: ETAG Energietechnik Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Germany-based ETAG GmbH, received approval from the development commissioner of Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) in record time to build a state-of-the-art production facility in Mangaluru. As part of its global expansion, ETAG is relocating operations from Germany and the Middle East to India to better serve its growing Asian customer base. ETAG is positioned to become a key player in the energy solutions space. The company focuses on hybrid energy storage systems, ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure, and advanced power technologies. Its work supports sustainable energy in the future of mobility, placing it at the forefront of global energy innovation, stated a release. The new MSEZ facility is expected to be operational by early 2026. The investment will facilitate research, design, development, manufacture, and deployment of energy systems and devices.
