Bhumi Pednekar shares how she ‘gets high' on life while shooting on set
Actress Bhumi Pednekar recently offered a glimpse into what keeps her spirits soaring on set. In a candid moment, she shared how she often 'gets high' on life while working. Taking to Instagram, Bhumi shared photos of herself from the sets, writing, 'Bun maska and chai gets me high.' In the images, the Bhakshak actress is seen enjoying tea with bun maska. In the video, Pednekar could be heard saying, 'Bread, butter, and chai ultimate.' Bhumi shared a series of photos from the sets, capturing the cozy mood of a rainy-day shoot. Along with her post, she used hashtags like #monsoons, #onset, #filming, #BhumiPednekar, and #chai — perfectly summing up her love for simple pleasures during a busy filming schedule. Professionally, the 'Badhaai Do' actress was most recently seen in the series 'The Royals,' which also starred Ishaan Khatter, Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Vihaan Samat, Dino Morea, and Milind Soman. Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, the romantic comedy centered on a once-wealthy royal family in present-day India, facing financial hardships. Their fate begins to change when the family's heir partners with a hospitality entrepreneur to transform their ancestral palace into a high-end resort. In the show, Bhumi Pednekar played Sophia Kanmani Shekhar, the CEO of Work Potato and the love interest of Fizzy. The series premiered on Netflix on May 9, 2025, and was renewed for a second season on May 28. Tanya Bami, Series Head, Netflix India, added, 'Rom-coms have a timeless charm; they make us laugh, believe in love, and embrace the beautiful chaos that comes with it. With The Royals, we've created a modern love story that has an equally modern-day conflict. While Bridgerton and Emily in Paris showed the world how compelling romantic sagas can be, The Royals brings that sizzle and swoon to a world that's unapologetically Indian. Creators Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy said, 'With The Royals, we've mounted a romance that whips together the old-world charm of palaces and Indian royalty with glass-walled boardrooms and modern reality—where love is anything but easy.' The creators shared that the series is about two people from completely different worlds, each fighting their own battles, constantly at odds, yet irresistibly drawn to each other in ways they never expected. Bhumi is next gearing up for the release of the psychological thriller 'Daldal.' In an Instagram post, the actress had opened up about her character in the upcoming web series. Reflecting on what she described as a year-long journey, she shared her excitement and nervousness about portraying a role she considers one of the most complex and layered of her career. She considers her character Sandhya from Dum Laga Ke Haisha most significant. New Delhi: Bhumi Pednekar was last seen in the Netflix series The Royals. While some appreciated her versatility and chemistry with Ishaan Khatter, some had mixed responses. Bhumi Pednekar has delivered a mixed bag of projects ever since her debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha. In a recent conversation with Harper's Bazaar India, the actress revealed that her character Sandhya from her debut film is the closest to her heart. She said, "And the character closest to my heart has to be from my first film, Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Because honestly, that girl changed me. She changed my approach to life. She made me fall a little more in love with myself and helped me deal with my insecurities. It's a never-ending battle. With every passing year, as you grow older, the kinds of insecurities you deal with also change. Every few years, you need some kind of intervention and fortunately for me, my character and my work give me that intervention." Furthermore, talking about some other characters from her filmography that she resonates with the most, Bhumi shared, "I think a character I resonated with the most has to be a mix of what I did in Thank You for Coming and Badhaai Do. I think both these pieces centred around themes of liberation, finding freedom, standing your ground, and being your most authentic self. And to me, these are things that really, really matter because I honestly have been on that path over the last decade. The kind of roles I've done have always reflected my pursuit of that liberation and freedom." On the work front, Bhumi is all set to headline a thriller, she now has Dalal in her lineup.

‘It came as a relief when..': Neena Gupta on breaking her pregnancy news to Vivian Richards
Neena Gupta is one of the strongest examples of a single mother who successfully raised her daughter — fashion designer Masaba Gupta — amidst societal hate and judgment. In her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh, she recalled being 'giddy with joy' after discovering her pregnancy. However, she thought it essential to consult the father of her unborn child, Vivian Richards, an internationally renowned cricketer. 'I understood that I wasn't the only person who had a say in the situation. The baby's father, Vivian, had an equal right. So, I called him one day and spoke to him for a long time,' she wrote in her book. ''I'm pregnant, ' I told him. 'Would you have a problem if I were to have your baby?' Vivian sounded happy and said I should go ahead,' the Badhaai Do actor added. For her, this assurance was necessary. 'As much as I wanted this child, I also did not want to go ahead if the father wasn't on board. So, it came as a relief when Vivian supported my decision,' she continued. A post shared by Neena Gupta (@neena_gupta) Rima Bhandekar, Psychologist at Mpower, Aditya Birla Education Trust, told that the tone for a parenting journey is set by the support of a partner during pregnancy since the bond between parents and child starts even before childbirth. 'When the partner shows emotional participation in small things such as showing up for doctor's appointments, talking or playing music for the baby, or simply filling a pregnancy journal together, it helps build deeper connections and become cherished memories for both parents,' she explained. The anxiety experienced by a mother during pregnancy can increase cortisol levels, and if those levels are too high, they may interfere with fetal brain development. According to her, these small loving gestures by the partner help calm the mother's nerves, provide comfort, and increase feelings of togetherness. Bhandekar said that the partner does not need to be ready with all the solutions to pregnancy issues, or read every baby book ever written to provide support — but show their emotional presence by asking her how she's really feeling, normalizing her moods, making time for laughter, and saying comforting words. By being involved in a child's life from day one, the partner steps into the role as a parent and becomes more confident when the baby shows up,' she said. Pregnancy is the start of a new life, and the more love and support a partner shows to the mother, the safer, more loved, and emotionally secure she will feel.

She also expressed that despite having no dialogue in the film, she is proud to have been part of it, and refuses to be ashamed of that. She said that many people questioned her for including the film in her filmography, since she has no dialogues, but she said that she values the opportunity and the film is a 'big deal' for her. In a conversation with Zoom, Chum Darang said, 'Many times this has happened that people would literally message and tell me that 'There's not even one dialogue of yours in the film (Gangubai Kathiawadi). Why are you talking about that film? Why are you putting that in your work link?' But for me, being a part of that film is a big deal. Nobody would understand that, but for me, it is. Seema Pahwa refuses to train 'nepo kids' when asked to do so; says Hindi cinema is selling faces, not story: 'Why not get trained actors?'
Seema Pahwa known for her iconic television show 'Hum Log' and being such a known face in Hindi cinema with recent movies like 'Badhaai Do', 'Bareily Ki Barfi' among others is a theatre artiste. She and her husband Manoj Pahwa who is also a known actor, have largely begun concentrating on plays. In a recent interview, Seema opened up on the current trend within the industry of launching star kids who don't really know anything. She revealed she is often asked to train them but refuses to do so. Seema revealed that she has told her own children to train themselves in acting before they even decide to be a part of any movie. Her children are now training with theatre. "They believe their decision is wrong. They say nothing that we've taught them has any value in the present system. They rue the fact that we made them actors, and not stars," she said. Further talking about star kids, she said, "Why would I say star kids shouldn't come to cinema. Just like how I want my kids to move ahead, even others would have similar expectations, right? There are so many actors who are trained from FTII or NSD, etc… why aren't they getting cast in any film. I know of someone who is an acting graduate and a theatre artist , who quit acting and left the city because of lack of offers." She further added how film-makers have reached out to her to train star kids but she has refused. "Earlier, directors and producers had the say, and that's why you had talent coming in from all over. Now, it is more of a package system that is brought into place to launch someone into films. In fact, some filmmakers reach out to me to train an actor, and do workshops with them. But I flatly refuse to do so," she said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Your Finger Shape Says a Lot About Your Personality, Read Now Tips and Tricks Undo Further revealing the reason for it, she revealed, "Why not just use trained actors instead of bringing untrained people on board, and then teaching them acting. Give the deserving a chance. What new are these untrained actors going to bring to cinema? Why waste that money and investment." She also said that Hindi cinema is now selling a face, not a story.
