Film body seeks clarification from Badshah over Dallas event by Pakistani company

Federation of Western lndia Cine Employees (FWICE) has written a letter to singer-rapper Badshah to demand clarification about his show in Dallas which is reportedly being sponsored by a Pakistani its letter, FWICE wrote, "Dear Mr. Badshah, It has come to our attention that you are scheduled to perform in an upcoming event 'Badhshah Un-Finished Tour' at the Curtis Culwell Centre in Dallas, USA, on the 19th of Sept. 2025 which is reportedly being sponsored by 3Sixty Shows, a company owned and operated by Pakistani nationals. As you are aware, the Federation of Western lndia Cine Employees (FWICE), in alignment with the directives issued by the Ministry of lnformation and Broadcasting, Government of tndia, has clearly instructed all artists, performers, and technicians in the lndian entertainment industry to refrain from engaging in any professional collaborations or performances with Pakistani nationals or organisations connected to Pakistan. These measures are in place considering the continuing acts of terrorism and hostile activities directed against lndia from across the border (sic)."advertisementThe letter further read, "The most recent and tragic example is the Pahalgam terror attack of 22nd April ZO2S, where heavily armed terrorists ambushed an army convoy, resulting in the martyrdom of five brave soldiers and injuries to several others. This incident is a painful reminder of the unrelenting violence faced by our nation and underscores the importance of solidarity in our stance against such perpetrators and their supporters. ln light of this, we request your immediate clarification regarding your association with this event and the said organisers. We trust that as a respected lndian artist, you will uphold the sentiments of the nation and the directives issued by FWICE and the Government of lndia." "Your prompt response will be appreciated so that we may take the necessary steps in accordance with our regulations. Thanking you," the letter the film body had also warned actor Kartik Aaryan against participating in an Independence Day event organised by a Pakistani restaurant in Houston, United actor's team, in their official reply, wrote, "Kartik Aaryan is not associated with this event in any capacity. He has never made an official announcement about participating in this event. We have contacted the organisers and requested to remove all promotional materials featuring his name and image."Tensions escalated between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir in which 22 civilians were killed.\As a response, the Indian Army and Indian Air Force executed precision strikes at nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), as part of Operation Sindoor.- Ends
