HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Honours Winners of Bahraini Youth Day Commemorative Stamp Design Competition
Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, honoured the winners of the commemorative stamp design competition launched in celebration of Bahraini Youth Day. The awards were presented during the official ceremony organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs to mark this national occasion. According to Bahrain News Agency, the competition saw Hessa Ghazi winning first place, followed by Dalal Bumtaia in second place, and Marwan Abdulla in third. The winning design pays tribute to the vital role of Bahraini youth in driving national development and prosperity. The stamp captures the creative spirit and ambition of young Bahrainis and highlights their pioneering role in the Kingdom's space achievements, notably through the launch and operation of the 'Al Munther' satellite, an important milestone in Bahrain's growing record of success. The competition was a joint initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bahrain. It aimed to showcase the creativity of Bahraini youth through the design of a commemorative stamp that reflects their aspirations and achievements across diverse fields. The initiative reflects the Ministry of Youth Affairs' commitment to empowering Bahraini youth by involving them in global creative platforms, giving them opportunities to express their talents and contribute to national identity through impactful design. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, stated that issuing a commemorative stamp for Bahraini Youth Day forms part of Bahrain's national efforts to support and empower youth, develop their knowledge, creative skills, and professional capabilities, and document their contributions as active partners in national development. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed that the stamp provides a unique opportunity to highlight the contributions of Bahraini youth with a contemporary creative perspective. She emphasised that involving youth in the design process reinforces national identity and belonging, while promoting their achievements on various platforms. Asma Shalabi, UNDP Resident Representative in Bahrain, noted that dedicating a stamp to Bahraini Youth Day reflects the Kingdom's commitment to youth empowerment in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. She highlighted that the initiative demonstrates Bahrain's efforts to promote active youth participation in society, aligned with the UN's priorities of supporting youth as key drivers of sustainability and progress.

Awareness exhibition
The Deputy Capital Governor, Hassan Al Madani, attended an awareness exhibition at Sitra Cultural and Sports Club. The event is organised by the Maan (together) programme against violence and addiction to mark Bahraini Youth Day. The Deputy Governor affirmed the Capital Governorate's commitment to encouraging pioneering initiatives and programmes that align with the Governorate's vision of strengthening community partnerships. The exhibition features awareness-raising booths offering a range of content, including interactive workshops, visual presentations, and educational media materials that highlight the dangers of violence and addiction. It also featured real-life simulations, which provided interactive experiences that allowed visitors to experience the potential dangers of addiction.

BisB launches Master's Scholarship for Bahraini Youth as part of ‘From Aspiration to Leadership' Initiative
In conjunction with Bahraini Youth Day, which falls on March 25, Bahrain Islamic Bankannounced the launch of the 'From Aspiration to Leadership' initiative. As part of this initiative, the Bank will offer a scholarship for a master's degree in leadership and Innovation. A qualified young Bahraini professional will have the opportunity to pursue their postgraduate studies in a prestigious, internationally accredited academic program offered by a leading university in the United Kingdom, specifically designed to prepare the Kingdom's future leaders. This initiative underscores BisB's commitment to empowering young national talents through access to high-level education and development opportunities. The scholarship aims to develop skills in leadership, innovation, and strategic governance – qualities critical to Bahrain's economic and financial future. It also encourages young Bahraini talents across the Kingdom to apply and showcase their capabilities. Additionally, it enhances the bank's position as a key player in national talent development and a pioneer in promoting digital innovation while adhering to Sharia principles and sustainability. Eligible applicants must be young Bahraini nationals, hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized educational institution and have a minimum of three years of work experience. They must demonstrate English language proficiency, with a minimum IELTS overall score of 7.0 with at least 6.5 in each skill, or a TOEFL score of 100 with minimum scores of 25 in writing, 23 in reading, and 20 in other skills. Ms. Fatema AlAlawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB stated: "Through initiatives that benefit the development of Bahraini youth's skills and provide them with the right foundation for further creativity in leadership and innovation, this initiative reflects the bank's ongoing commitment to launching impactful initiatives that serve the local community and align with our strategy to enhance social responsibility, particularly focusing on youth empowerment as a priceless national asset. We will continue our commitment as a national bank to support various national initiatives aimed at empowering the younger generation and advancing them to higher leadership positions in the future." To apply, candidates must submit their CV and a a personal statement. Applications should be submitted via BisB's website ( In addition, each applicant is required to submit a written idea on one of the following topics: • Digital Transformation in the Banking Sector: Developing BisB's digital application, features, and banking services. • Islamic Banking Products: Enhancing Islamic banking and financial solutions. • Sustainability: Integrating community, environmental, governance practices, and green banking initiatives. Applications open on March 25th, 2025, and close on 25th April 2025. The top ten candidates will be shortlisted in May 2025and invited to present their ideas to a panel of BisB executives. During the presentations, candidates will have the opportunity to pitch their proposed solutions, demonstrate their leadership potential, and show the strategic value of their ideas across either digital innovation, Sharia compliance, or sustainability. Based on these final presentations, the scholarship recipient will be selected and announced in June 2025.
