Milton police arrest Texas man accused of stealing over $850,000
MILTON, Fla. (WKRG) — Milton police officers have arrested 22-year-old Mohamed Bakayoko after reportedly stealing $852,983.06 from the Santa Rosa County Clerk of Court & Comptroller's Office. Car spins out in front of WKRG crew on I-65 during rain; driver urges others to slow down Known as a cybercriminal, Bakayoko allegedly used a sophisticated email scheme to impersonate vendors while using a compromised email account. According to police, the suspect had the Clerk of Courts office change the vendor's bank account to one he could access. Immediately following the transfer, the funds were dispersed across multiple financial institutions and accessed through substantial cash withdrawals. 'I'm very pleased to report that approximately $650,000 of the stolen money has already been recovered and returned to the clerk of courts office,' Milton Police Chief Jennifer Frank said. Frank commended her team, saying it's not easy to catch these scammers and recover stolen money. 'Because our agency was able to cooperate with the financial institutions and be able to respond swiftly, we're able to freeze those accounts, stop that money, and that allowed us to be able to identify the individual,' Frank said. Bakayoko was in Texas when police obtained an arrest warrant. 'That individual had left the state, and so now we had to work with our other state and regional and community, in this case, federal partners,' Frank said. 'Thanks to the FBI, arrest warrant was secured, they were able to arrest him, and he was extradited back here.' At this time, police are uncertain if Bakayoko was working alone. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison. Pensacola's Gulf Coast Culture Fest returns with art, music, food and film Bakayoko currently sits in Santa Rosa County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Champions League draw in full as Man City bids to join Liverpool and Arsenal in last 16
Liverpool has already secured its place in the last 16 of the Champions League with those teams in the playoffs now discovering their opponents. The Reds cruised to top spot in the group stage despite losing to PSV with a much changed line up and will not have to navigate a two-legged playoff next month. Arne Slot was able to rest his star players in Eindhoven with one eye on this weekend's Premier League encounter with Bournemouth. His side is joined by the likes of Arsenal and Aston Villa in the last 16 but Manchester City still has plenty of work to do and now faces Real Madrid. Liverpool-linked Champions League star makes bold transfer claim after $52m rumors
As Liverpool played PSV in the Champions League, Johan Bakayoko definitely passed a transfer audition. Plenty of Premier League clubs have looked at the 21-year-old winger in recent months and many would have been impressed. Bakayoko was playing against a makeshift Liverpool defense and a rotated team, but he gave Kostas Tsimikas some problems with his direct dribbling and took his first-half goal very well. There is, clearly, a talented player in there to be further unlocked, which is reflected in his price tag of around $52m (£42m/€50m). In terms of Liverpool, Bakayoko would need to go up another level in terms of goalscoring to be someone worth signing (and the Reds hope to still be well-stocked down the right flank next year by pinning Mohamed Salah down to a new contract). But the man himself has no doubts that he can play for a club of that size. "We can be happy that we won against big names, but they didn't come with the strongest team either. It's a shame that they didn't come with the strongest team. "I'm in a good place. I feel the confidence of the entire club. As long as that is there, I feel good, whether I play well or badly. I would not make such a move to Saudi Arabia now, no. I would not do it." Bakayoko scored 14 goals and assisted another 14 last season and has netted eight so far in this one. Brentford is among the teams in England to have considered making a bid for his services. "I know people sometimes question this because they haven't seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well," Arne Slot said on transfers this week. "There's a reason for that — because we're happy with the squad. But I do know we're definitely working on strengthening in the summer." says: While Bakayoko could become Liverpool level in the future, he still has more developing to do. He is a long way off being ready to replace Salah when the time comes, which hopefully, of course, should be a while off needing to happen anyway.

PSV star admits he deliberately defied his manager vs Liverpool - 'I'll hear it straight'
Johan Bakayoko said he will "hear it straight" from his manager after defying orders in PSV Eindhoven's 3-2 win over Liverpool. The skillful winger took several flamboyant touches on the ball during the Champions League encounter, especially in the second half of the game, which drew a reaction from the crowd. While the fans liked it, Bakayoko said his manager, Peter Bosz, would be less impressed. "I don't think the coach will be happy about it. I think that's also why people come to the stadium. You saw how they reacted to that. I think that could be a bit more,' the Belgian international revealed after the game. I like gallery play, but he likes efficient football. I'll hear it straight from him, I know that already. 'We can be happy that we won against big names, but they didn't come with the strongest team either. It's a shame that they didn't come with the strongest team.' Bakayoko, who was linked with a move to Liverpool last summer, got PSV up and running during the Champions League decider on Wednesday. It was his goal that got PSV back on level terms for the first time following Cody Gakpo's penalty. The 21-year-old netted his eighth goal of the season in sublime fashion after he controlled the ball with his left foot and shaped to shoot before chopping back onto his right foot and firing past Caoimhin Kelleher. It was a moment that embarrassed the makeshift center-back pairing of Jarell Quansah and Andy Robertson, both of whom slid in to block the shot but were fooled by Bakayoko's deceptive feint. The win ensures PSV progresses to the knockout stages of the Champions League and will face either Juventus or Feyenoord in the play-off rounds. The Dutch champions will learn their fate during Friday's draw, which will determine the play-off matches. Liverpool will also be keeping an eye on proceedings in Nyom, even if it is not directly affected yet. The Reds know they will face one of Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Monaco, or Brest when the last-16 commences, but the draw will determine which of the quartet will face each of the play-offs. It will be PSG or Benfica against Monaco or Brest. Once those double-legged ties are concluded, Liverpool will then be drawn against one of the two sides, who progress to the last-16 stage.

Liverpool lose 100% record but finish top
EINDHOVEN, Netherlands, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Liverpool's 100% record in the Champions League ended as they lost 3-2 at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday but Arne Slot's side still finished top of the group stage. A much-changed Liverpool, bidding to make it eight wins from eight, led twice in the Netherlands through Cody Gakpo's penalty against his old club and Harvey Elliott. Johan Bakayoko equalised for PSV and goals by Ismael Saibari and Ricardo Pepi completed a comeback win for the hosts with all the goals coming in a frantic first half. Liverpool ended with 10 men after substitute Amara Nallo was shown a straight red card for an 87th-minute foul. Liverpool topped the group stage with 21 points, two ahead of Barcelona who could only draw their last game. PSV will have to take their chances in the playoffs as they finished in 14th place. "We can take a lot of positives from tonight and it was a chance to give the young lads a chance," Liverpool's Andy Robertson said. "We got our noses in front at 2-1 and then were a bit naive, which usually doesn't happen. "Results went our way elsewhere so we finish top and that's what we wanted at the start of the season." Gakpo got the chance to silence his former fans after Joey Veerman brought down Federico Chiesa. Bakayoko equalised with a clinical finish in the 35th minute but Elliott restored the visitors' lead five minutes later as he poached a rebound after an effort by Chiesa was saved. Saibari thumped a second equaliser high past Caoimhin Kelleher to make it 2-2 before Pepi provided the deftest of touches to turn Mauro Junior's low cross over the line. The pace dropped after the interval as Gakpo departed to an ovation from both sets of fans. Nallo came on for his senior Liverpool debut in the final minutes but it will not be the happiest of memories as he was shown a red card for a rash challenge on Bakayoko.
