Fashion face-off: Kim Kardashian walks the runway as Cardi B takes centre stage in Paris

While fashion enthusiasts anticipated that American media personality Kim Kardashian would dazzle at the high-profile fashion affair, she instead became one of the models who strutted the runway for Balenciaga as Demna Gvasalia, the creative director of the brand, marked his final show for the brand. Kardashian took to Instagram and gave fans a glimpse of the show, including the behind-the-scenes, as she paid tribute to Gvasalia. Even though Kardashian and Campbell did not deliver a highly anticipated fashion statement with dazzling outfits like the public thought, Cardi B, however, turned heads and owned Haute Couture week. The American rapper has been wearing bold outfits that have captured the attention of the masses globally. Not only were her outfits bold, but they certainly became a fashion statement as she always wears extraordinary outfits, which she meticulously pairs with amazing hairstyles that blend perfectly with her outfits. Cardi B first stunned the internet with a black Schiaparelli dress that featured exaggerated shoulders with layered, moving pearls and even brought a live crow! She then wore a Stephane Rolland bubble black and white jacket with a long black skirt as she attended the brand's fashion show. The third stunning outfit she wore was for the Ashi Studio brand and dazzled in a beige costume dress that was made from pleats and lace. To close it off, Cardi B attended the Balenciaga show in a mesh black dress and took to Instagram as she paid a heartfelt tribute to Gvasalia. PARIS — On July 1, 1968, Cristobal Balenciaga locked the doors on his couture house on Avenue Georges V and turned his back on fashion. Not even those closest to him — staff or clients — had an inkling of his decision. Too bad Demna couldn't engineer his departure from Balenciaga for the same date, rather than a week later. That would have been too perfect. But if his decade at the house that Cristobal built has taught him anything, it was that perfection is an impossible dream. As he said after the show, once he let his quest for perfection go, under the guidance of the therapist who transformed his life, everything became effortless. Who could ask for anyone better to embody the Balenciaga woman? Well, maybe artist Eliza Douglas, who opened his first show at the house and closed his last, which means she was also the last image in the lookbook he had photographed all over 'his' Paris. She embodies the transformative confrontational beauty Demna chased at Balenciaga. Maybe he never achieved perfection, but he definitely found that. Kim Kardashian walks the runway in Elizabeth Taylor's earrings at Balenciaga show
The gang is back together at Demna Gvasalia's final Balenciaga show. Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Lauren Sánchez Bezos all made appearances at the fashion house's show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week on Wednesday, July 9. Though the trio were not pictured together, both Kardashian and Perry joined Sánchez for her pre-nuptial festivities ahead of her wedding to Jeff Bezos, while Kardashian was present during the big day. The Skims founder was seen in a hip-hugging white halter gown, while Perry donned a structured black mini-dress and Sánchez rocked a black peacoat and shades arriving for the show – in which Kardashian, along with Naomi Campbell, would eventually walk the runway, as seen on Sánchez-Bezos' Instagram stories. On the catwalk, Kardashian wore a form-fitting, ivory midi slip dress with lace trim and an old Hollywood updo reportedly inspired by Elizabeth Taylor, paired with the late actress' multimillion-dollar diamond earrings.
