Police make major breakthrough into deadly shooting of Australian man in Bali
Police have found two guns in their ongoing investigation into a deadly shooting in Bali last month where one Australian man was killed and another injured. Australian man Zivan Radmanovic, 32, was gunned down and killed by masked invaders inside a luxury Bali villa shortly after midnight on June 14, while his wife Jazmyn Gourdeas laid petrified under the bed sheets. Another Australian man, Sanar Ghanim, 34, was shot in the leg and beaten in the attack but managed to survive the ordeal. On Monday, officers fronted media as they placed one of the recovered pistols on display in an evidence bag. The gun was allegedly used as the murder weapon which was discovered in an irrigation stream, while the other was found within 50 metres of it, police said. Both weapons have undergone ballistic testing with the bullets and shell casings consistent with those used on the June 13 attack. Police also claim DNA had been found on a balaclava and pair of gloves which match one of the three Australian men currently in custody who are accused of being involved in the attack. Darcy Francesco Jenson, 27, Midolmore Pasa Tupou, 27, and Mevlut Coskun, 23, were arrested in relation to the fatal shooting and charged with premeditated murder. The maximum sentence for premediated murder is the death penalty. In late June the Australian trio, dubbed the Bali 3, were marched through the press pack donning handcuffs, black masks and orange t-shirts and refused to answer any questions put to them. Local police said they were still investigating if the shooting was a Melbourne underworld crime hit gone wrong and stated they were still searching for a possible fourth suspect involved in the attack. Authorities will allege that 27-year-old Jenson was the orchestrator of the plot, booking the villa where the shooting occurred and the rental getaway vehicles in addition to supplying the hammer that was used to break into the property. Police believe Jenson also waited outside the luxury lodge in a white Toyota Fortuner while Tupou and Coskun undertook the killing. Jenson was a Sydney plumber who went to St Patrick's College in Strathfield. He finished his trade and started his own plumbing business in 2020. Just three weeks before the shooting, Jenson was playing AFL in Sydney for the Parramatta Goannas. Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya who is leading the investigation told journalists at the time the execution style killing was 'well organised' and that the three attackers had 'planned the act" for a "long' time. Inspector General Adityajaya said Jenson had divulged crucial information to police including purchasing the sledgehammer that was used to break into the villa and hiring the rental motorcycles and cars. Authorities further allege Tupou purchased the firearm and disposed of one of the motorbikes, while Coskun aided in disposing the vehicle with both testing positive for gun residue after they were detained in Cambodia and Singapore respectively. The body of Mr Radmanovic has since been repatriated to Australia while Mr Ghanim and his family remain under police protection. The Bali 3 could face execution if they are charged and convicted under Article 340. An Australian embassy lawyer has been appointed to represent the trio.

Second gun to be tested for links to Melbourne father's death in Bali villa
Bali police have found a second gun they suspect was used in the alleged murder of an Australian father-of-six. Melbourne man Zivan Radmanovic, 32, was shot dead in front of his wife when gunmen stormed their villa in Munggu in mid-June. Radmanovic's friend, Sanar Ghanim, 34, was also shot but was not critically injured. One handgun allegedly used in the night-time attack was located in a river in Tabanan. It was put on show just last week when police paraded three Australian suspects in front of the media. Another firearm found nearby will now be tested to confirm if it is linked to Radmanovic's death, authorities said on Tuesday. 'It is still being examined in the forensic laboratory to determine or find out whether the weapon was really used by the (alleged) perpetrator,' police spokesman Aria Sandy said. 'Later it will be (tested against) the (alleged) perpetrator's DNA.' Bali's police chief, Daniel Adityajaya, alleged Melbourne men Mevlut Coskun, 22, and Paea-I-Middlemore, 26 carried out the killing. Sydney man Darcy Francesco Jenson, 27, is alleged to have helped plan and facilitate the murder, including by providing getaway cars. The men, known in Indonesia as the 'Bali 3', remain in custody but have not been charged. Investigators say a motive is still unclear, but all three could face the death penalty if convicted. . It was the first time the couple had travelled overseas together. 'My husband was a loving man and the best dad in the world,' Jazmyn Gourdeas said through her lawyer Sary Latief. 'Now I have (to do) the unimaginable (and return) home to tell them he's no longer here.' Gourdeas had been kept apart from her children in Australia as she waited to repatriate her husband's body from Indonesia. 'Being away from the kids, from the moment that this incident happened, all she could think about was them,' Latief said.

‘Well organised': Shocking details emerge of alleged murder of Zivan Radmanovic in Bali
Chilling new details of the alleged murder of a Melbourne man in Bali earlier this month have emerged, including the weapon used in the alleged attack. Australians Zivan Radmanovic and Sanar Ghanim were shot shortly after midnight on June 13 at a villa in Bali's south, in what is suspected to be linked to the Melbourne underworld crime syndicate. Mr Radmanovic died at the scene and Mr Ghanim suffered injuries to his leg. After a five-day manhunt for the alleged 'executers', three men, Midolmore Pasa Tupou, 27, Darcy Francesco Jenson, 27, and Mevlut Coskun, 22, were arrested in connection to the shooting. Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya told reporters on Thursday the alleged crime was 'well organised'. Inspector General Adityajaya alleged the trio, known as the Bali 3, had 'planned the act (for) quite long', accusing them of playing key roles in the alleged murder. He alleged 27-year-old Jenson was the mastermind of the attack, booking the villa where the shooting occurred, and supplying the tools, including a hammer to break into the villa. He is also accused of providing transportation for the other alleged offenders, renting a white Toyota Fortuner and a Suzuki XL7, as well as purchasing ferry tickets from Java to Bali. Police allege 22-year-old Coskun and 26-year-old Tupou were the shooters in the attack, with Tupou reportedly purchasing the firearm and disposing of a motorbike used as a getaway vehicle. Coskun is alleged to have helped dispose of the vehicle and purchased clothing for the attack. During the investigation into the alleged murder, police recovered several pieces of evidence in the villa, including two bullet fragments, six bullet casings and 38 bullet shards. Police also claimed to have found the gun used in the alleged attack, which was dumped alongside two magazines with bullets and an empty magazine in a river in Tabanan about 700m from the villa. In a press conference on Thursday, police showed off the weapon in an evidence bag, as well as the sledgehammer allegedly used to break and enter the villa. Police were able to identify the trio by tracking the purchase of the sledgehammer to a store, later linking them to their hired getaway vehicles. Police are yet to establish a motive behind the alleged attack, however believe the men have links to the Melbourne underworld. 'We are still investigating their motive and continue cross-checking the facts,' Inspector General Adityajaya said. If the trio are charged and convicted under Article 340, they could face the death penalty.
