Kentucky inmate alleged tried to escape, assaulted employees
WICKLIFFE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Ballard County Jail inmate has been charged after allegedly attempting to escape the facility and assaulting two corrections employees.
Kentucky State Police said at 10:50 p.m. on July 11, the Ballard County Sheriff's Office asked for help investigating an incident at the Ballard County Jail.
The sheriff's office reported that an inmate had attempted to escape and assaulted two deputy jailers in the process of attempting to escape.

Troopers responded to the jail and began an investigation.
According to KSP's preliminary investigation, 32-year-old Jeremy Lynn entered the control room of the Ballard County Jail, and allegedly assaulted a corrections employee and attempted to unlock doors from within the control room.
He allegedly assaulted a second corrections employee who entered the control room before he was taken back into custody.
Lynn, of Lovelaceville, was arrested and charged with first-degree escape (attempt) and two counts of third-degree assault (inmate assault on correctional employee). aa
He remains lodged at the Ballard County Jail.
