As the ward councillor for Ward 6 in KwaDukuza, I am proud to reaffirm that Ballito is ready to welcome the world to the Ballito Pro 2025 – one of the most anticipated events on the international surfing calendar.
Running from June 22 to July 6, the Ballito Pro is a global spectacle, broadcast to millions around the world and showcasing not only world-class surfing talent, but also the vibrancy and hospitality of our town.
Crucial renovations to the Willard Beach lifeguard tower – a key component of our safety infrastructure – have begun and remain firmly on track for completion ahead of the competition's opening. This forms part of our broader readiness plan to ensure the safety, comfort and enjoyment of both participants and visitors.
In addition, local law enforcement, Saps and municipal departments are fully mobilised to ensure a safe and well-coordinated event. Their planning and presence are critical in delivering the secure environment expected of a world-class sporting occasion.
Local businesses, tourism operators and hospitality services are also gearing up to offer visitors a warm and memorable experience. From the beaches to the restaurants, the people of Ballito are ready.
Ballito is not just hosting a competition – we are opening our arms to the world.
