‘This chapter is over': Is Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Al Nassr?
Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably the greatest soccer player of all time, has conquered every challenge set for him, or by him. Now, he's set to embark on another one. 'This chapter is over,' Ronaldo wrote in a post on X following Al Nassr's final Saudi Pro League game on Monday — a 3-2 loss to Al Fateh that saw Ronaldo's squad finish in third place. While Ronaldo didn't share specifics on his next step, it's fair to assume the 40-year-old isn't heading for retirement, as he also wrote, 'The story? Still being written," in his post. It may just be for another squad. While, in February, he signed a contract extension through June 2026, seeking a new club is a reasonable explanation behind his post. If that's the case, Ronaldo's tenure with Al Nassr — which began in January 2023 — consisted of helping the club win just one trophy — the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. Ronaldo has appeared in 76 matches and scored 73 goals for Al Nassr. He signed with the Saudi Pro League team in December 2023 after the two-year reunion with his former team, Manchester United, didn't go as well as planned. Ronaldo also spent four seasons in Serie A with Juventus, where he helped the club win the league in 2019 and 2020. And the bulk of his prime came at Real Madrid where he racked up two league titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies. The five-time Ballon D'Or winner has represented Portugal in each of the last five World Cups, and has the country's record of 136 goals scored that will likely never be touched. He is still eligible to make the national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America. Now, Ronaldo's status until that tournament seems undecided and mysterious. He could very well return to finish out his contract at Al Nassr, or he could add another lucky team to his index of a lengthy and illustrious novel that is his soccer career. Why Denis Law memorial trail unveiling falls at the same time as Aberdeen's Scottish Cup final clash
The unveiling of Denis Law's new Printfield memorial is to fall on the same day as Aberdeen's cup final day in an 'unfortunate' calendar clash. The trail, set to commemorate 'The Lawman's' childhood growing up in Printfield, will be officially opened tomorrow at 3.15pm on Saturday May 24. The unveiling begins 15 minutes after Aberdeen's biggest match of the season, the Scottish Cup Final, kicks off at Hampden Park, Glasgow. It has led to some being 'disappointed' by the clash in timings, but organisers have said that it was the only date 'that everyone could manage.' The memorial is set to be attended by 'as many members of the Law family as possible' who are travelling to Aberdeen from Manchester for the event. Law, Aberdeen's most revered footballer, grew up in Printfield and attended Powis Academy. He made 404 appearances for Manchester United and remains to this day Scotland's only Ballon D'Or winner. Law passed away aged 84 after a 'tough battle' with illness last January. Mark Williams, CEO of the Denis Law Legacy Trust, admitted today that the clash was something he'd have liked to avoid. Mark said: 'We absolutely would have planned it differently – it's an unfortunate clash. 'But it will be a fantastic day for Aberdeen, not just the Denis Law Legacy Trail but also the football club reaching the Scottish Cup final for the first time in quite a while.' Printfield councillor Neil Copland, also said he understood some of the disappointment caused by the date chosen. He said: 'The date was set before Aberdeen qualified for the final, it was set to accommodate as many members of the Law family as possible travelling up from Manchester, after all it's about Denis Law. 'It is unfortunate, but the only date that everyone could manage was Saturday. 'I know people will be disappointed that it clashes but I am sure they can visit Printfield and enjoy experiencing the trail and the murals in the coming weeks.' The trail will be officially opened at number 10 on the corner of Printfield Walk and Printfield Terrace. The project was first initiated by the Printfield community and developed in collaboration with Denis Law Legacy Trust, Robert Gordon University's Gray's School of Art, Denis' family and Aberdeen City Council. Between 2pm and 4.15pm, there will be workshops for families in the Printfield play area. Games and activities by The Denis Law Legacy Trust and workshops by Fine Day Studio and the Robert Gordon University Mobile Art School will also be held.

Mo Salah sets sights on new ambitious target after winning Premier League
Liverpool cruised to the Premier League title this season with Mohamed Salah instrumental in their success - but now the Egyptian forward wants to go further by lifting the Champions League Mohamed Salah has set his heart on conquering Europe next season - and the world. Egyptian king Salah is eyeing the Ballon D'Or as he looks set to break more records after helping Liverpool run away with the Premier League title. Salah, 32, is already on 46 goals and assists in a Premier League season - just one behind joint record holders Andy Cole and Alan Shearer - and wants to follow that up by targeting Champions League glory next season. Liverpool superstar Salah said: 'So, I go again next year to break the records again! As a team, again winning the Premier League but now our priority will be more the Champions League but winning the Premier League would be so special. 'Just win the Premier League again and the Champions League. Hopefully more awards and records. "It all comes together when the team wins stuff, like trophies then it comes easier to win it.' Salah hopes that his individual success with goals and assists which helped Liverpool clinch the Premier League will also help him win the Ballon D'Or for the first time and be recognised as the best in the world. The Liverpool superstar is among the favourites like Barcelona superstar Raphinha and Salah says it would be special for his fans on Merseyside and in Egypt. When asked whether he wants to get his hands on the trophy, Salah added: "Hopefully, yeah. "I would say that I have never had a season like this and winning big, big trophies so this is my best chance to win it while I'm in the club because it's been a crazy year, crazy season with trophies and it means there's a chance. "It would mean a lot to me and to the people to win it. But again, I have had a great season and if it comes then it comes but if not then it's not in my hands. "I've done my best through the season, winning the Premier League was such an incredible season with those numbers and the assists, hopefully it will help but we will see." Man City climb to third with 3-1 win over Bournemouth
Manchester City's Omar Marmoush scored a stunner in a 3-1 Premier League win over Bournemouth on Tuesday that saw them climb to third in the table, giving Kevin De Bruyne a victory in his final appearance. City have 68 points with one game remaining, two points above Newcastle United, Chelsea and Aston Villa in the nervy chase for a top-five finish and Champions League qualification. Bournemouth are 11th, with the loss ending their chances of playing European football next season. Both sides finished the game with 10 men after City's Mateo Kovacic was shown a red card in the 67th minute for pulling back Evanilson when he was through on goal, followed by Lewis Cook for the visitors in the 73rd for his reckless challenge on Nico Gonzalez. City were on the front foot from the first whistle and Marmoush scored in the 14th minute when he drifted forward before unleashing a scorcher from 30 yards out that dipped just inside the top-left corner. Bernardo Silva doubled their lead in the 38th when Ilkay Gundogan cut the ball back for the Portuguese who slotted it in at the near post and Gonzalez struck in the 89th with a run from deep before whipping the ball past goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Daniel Jebbison pulled one back for Bournemouth seconds before the final whistle when he pounced on a careless pass to Ruben Dias before slotting the ball through goalkeeper Ederson's legs. The visitors had squandered a terrific chance to equalise on the break in the first half, but a stretching Evanilson hit Marcus Tavernier's cross off the upright. "The beginning of the game, you could see straight away they started with a lot of intensity," Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola said. "They scored probably one of their best goals of the season and it cost us." City midfielder Rodri saw his first action in eight months as a late substitute, entering the game to a standing ovation. The 2024 Ballon D'Or winner had not played since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in September.
