IU has unveiled a visually captivating music video for A Beautiful Person featuring Balming Tiger, a touching B-side track from her remake album 'Kkot Galpi 3' (A Flower Bookmark Pt. 3). Released through her agency EDAM Entertainment, the video has drawn widespread attention for its emotional depth and a surprise appearance by ASTRO 's Cha Eun Woo. IU and Cha Eun Woo's A Beautiful Person MV: The narrative-driven video plays out like a modern fable, centering on a boy born as a being of light, cherished by all but gradually overwhelmed by his uniqueness. In a pivotal rooftop scene, the characters—played by IU and Cha Eun Woo—remove their masks, symbolizing acceptance and vulnerability. A Beautiful Person is part of IU's latest album, which reimagines beloved Korean classics with her signature emotional delivery. The narrative is further elevated by heartfelt voice-overs from both IU and Cha Eun Woo, which infuse the story with emotional depth and nuance. Their compelling on-screen presence stands out, reminiscent of their previous collaboration for a jewelry brand campaign earlier this year. Since its debut, the video has quickly gained traction, earning acclaim for its powerful message, striking visuals, and standout performances. Fans Reaction: This collaboration between IU and Cha Eun Woo has deeply resonated with fans, blending music, narrative, and striking visuals into a powerful artistic experience. The video's exploration of identity, emotional connection, and healing continues to leave a lasting impression, marking another standout achievement in both artists' evolving careers. One fan commented, 'It's beautiful—the meaning, the track, the lyrics, and of course, Cha Eun Woo.' Another added with admiration, 'So basically, IU is paying tribute to Cha Eun Woo's beauty.' Cha Eun Woo's Military Service Date Announced: Alongside the buzz surrounding the music video, Cha Eun Woo made headlines with personal news. His agency, Fantagio, confirmed that he has been accepted into South Korea's Army Military Band and will begin his mandatory military service on July 28, 2025. Fans expressed a mix of pride and sadness, offering words of support and encouragement for his upcoming enlistment.

Was Cha Eun Woo replaced by Heo Nam Jun as male lead in IU's Never Ending Story MV? All we know about ASTRO member's cameo

IU's highly anticipated comeback with her remake album A Flower Bookmark has stirred major buzz in the Korean entertainment world. And it's not just because of her stunning vocals or the sentimental tracklist. Early reports from Korean media revealed that popular actor and ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo would appear in IU's new music project. This led many to believe he would star as the male lead in the title track's music video. But when Never Ending Story finally dropped, it wasn't Cha Eun Woo who appeared alongside IU. Actually, it was rising actor Heo Nam Joon who took center stage, catching many fans off guard. For many fans, the biggest surprise was the casting. Despite IU's agency previously confirming Cha Eun Woo's participation in the music project, he was nowhere to be seen in the lead role of the title track MV. Instead, Heo Nam Joon, an actor born in 1993, the same year as IU, delivered a compelling and grounded performance. His portrayal introduced him to a broader audience. It adds to the growing attention he has received through roles in dramas like Sweet Home, The Impossible Heir, Your Honor, and When the Phone Rings. Cha Eun Woo's cameo reports According to new reports, Cha Eun Woo's appearance will be in the form of a cameo in another music video from the album. While his exact role remains under wraps, the news has sparked speculation that IU may release additional visuals for her other tracks. Given the storytelling quality of Never Ending Story, fans are hoping for more narrative-driven MVs as part of her album promotions. KMA Committee faces backlash from ARMY as RM's ‘Right Place, Wrong Person' gets snubbed from the nomination list

BTS ARMY has time and again stood up for the group in times of need and has shown their never-ending support. In the latest updates, online discussions led to backlash as the KMA nomination list does not have RM 's album mentioned anywhere. RM's album left out of the Korean Music Award list BTS member RM's full solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person' did not get any nominations at this year's KMA list, sparking major outrage. Fans showed their concerns in the matter and shared that the album not being included was a surprise for many, as at the time of its release, the album received a lot of praise. Critics and experts also shared their insights and praised the album for its unique style and lyricism. The album was not considered for KMA's nominations due to genre classification issues with the album. KMA committee member shares insights Committee member Jo Hye Rim, in a recent interview she held, shared her insights on the issue at hand. Citing RM's album 'Right Place, Wrong Person' as an example, she shared how the committee fails to categorise music due to its ambiguous nature. In the interview with Ling Rong Dang, Hye Rim shared that this does not come down to the quality of the album but to the conflict of where such music is to be categorised. In an online social media post she quoted, 'There are often songs that are not selected because the genre is ambiguous. In the case of albums that aim for the alternative genre, such as those by RM or Balming Tiger, even though they are great albums, there were many internal concerns about selecting them because they do not fall into a clear genre. Sometimes, the distinction between music genres can actually be an obstacle,' as per report from Pinkvilla. Backlash and fans criticising the KMA committee After news of RM's lack of nominations in the KMA list, Hye Rim's statement further aggravated fans. BTS ARMY took to various social media platforms to show their disdain and concern about the matter. Many called the committee out for not being professional and for not being able to categorise him. Citing concerns within the committee, fans expressed their opinions on the matter online extensively. Many even shared that complaints should be filed in the matter and questioned the skills of the KMA committee members. Japanese Breakfast Play Tug of War With Time in ‘Picture Window' Video

Michelle Zauner turned a lifelong rumination on loss into a cinematic capsule in Japanese Breakfast's 'Picture Window' music video. 'I wanted this video to feel like a short film,' the musician shared about the visual, which stars Omega from Balming Tiger and Gyuri Kim. Filmed while Zauner, who directed the video, was living in Seoul last year, 'Picture Window' follows the pair as they play tug of war with the passage of time. 'Ever since I was a young girl I've dealt with intrusive thoughts of loved ones dying horrible deaths,' Zauner said in a statement. 'When someone is running late or they've neglected a text or even if they're just looking over a balcony, my mind has a tendency to run to the worst case scenario, a reflex only exacerbated by my experience of many real deaths. It can be both a relief and a struggle to love someone who doesn't share this same proclivity for anxiety. Picture Window explores that dynamic.' Zauner was drawn to Omega's energy and charm when casting him in the role, but it was Kim's 'melancholy and uncertainty,' she says, that made them a perfect match. 'Watching it back, it's bittersweet to look back on my year abroad—the wonderful people I met, the neighborhoods I loved and lived in,' Zauner said. 'The constant tracking from left to right is a reminder of how time continues to pass no matter how forcefully you struggle to beat it back or rush to get ahead of it. I watch out the window as the scenery passes, visualizing all my unlived lives swishing past.' 'Picture Window' appears on the recently-released Japanese Breakfast album For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women), their first since 2021's Jubilee.
