WWE Star, Currently A Champion, Yet To Forgive John Cena For Stealing His World Title Shot
Superstar Finn Balor hasn't forgiven 17-time WWE world champion John Cena for stealing his title shot in 2021. For the unversed, during an episode of SmackDown on July 30, 2021, a contract signing took place between the then WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and 'The Demon' Balor. However, as Balor was about to sign the agreement, he was attacked by 'Sad' Baron Corbin, who then attempted to sign on the dotted line before Cena charged down to the ring and wiped him out. It was Cena who eventually signed the contract, guaranteeing himself a title shot against The Original Tribal Chief during that year's SummerSlam. Recently, a fan took to X and reminded Balor, who is one-half of the World Tag Team Champions, of exactly what transpired four years back. "Finn never forgets," Balor replied. Finn never forgets — Finn Bálor (@FinnBalor) August 5, 2025 Meanwhile, Cena lost the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes in the main event of SummerSlam Night Two on Monday. Both men put their bodies on the line in what was a repeat of the Wrestlemania main event earlier this year. Cody survived as many as five Attitude Adjustments, including two off the top rope, to deny season a win. Cena too kicked out after taking three consecutive Cross Rhodes from the American Nightmare, who eventually picked up the win after a sixth Cross Rhodes to the champion. Cody looked emotional after the match as Cena handed him the title, giving him the blessings to take WWE forward. However, Brock Lesnar's music hit at a WWE arena for the first time since SummerSlam 2023, before he walked out to the ring and hit Cena with an F5. Lesnar has been absent from WWE since Janel Grant amended her 2024 lawsuit against former boss Vince McMahon and WWE in January to include Lesnar.

Impressive new Louth mural brings mythical Drawda urban art trail to a fiery finish
Commissioned by Love Drogheda BID and Droichead Arts Centre, the latest mural depicts Balor, an imposing one-eyed giant from Irish legend locked in battle with his grandson, the warrior Lugh. The piece is one of the largest murals in Ireland, and now occupies a prominent position on the wall of Scotch Hall. Balor, a central figure in the lore of the Fomorians, is remembered for his destructive "evil eye" and his role in ancient conflicts with the Tuatha Dé Danann. His mythological links to the Boyne Valley, particularly the Standing Stones at Baltray, make him a fitting final figure for a project so deeply rooted in local legend. The DRAWDA trail has transformed Drogheda into an outdoor gallery of myth and storytelling. Other featured deities and figures include The Morrigan, The Dagda, and Amergin, all brought to life by a blend of local, national, and international artists. A self-guided audio trail, accessible via QR codes beside each mural, allows visitors to delve deeper into each myth. The stories are based on retellings by Anthony Murphy, adapted by Gráinne Rafferty, and voiced by Niall O'Brien and Gráinne Rafferty, with original music by Niall Gregory and editing by Sean McCluskey at Basement Sounds. Set against the backdrop of Drogheda's medieval walls, ancient gates, and sacred sites, the project celebrates the town's unique position within Ireland's Ancient East and the rich storytelling traditions of the Boyne Valley. The DRAWDA Urban Art Trail was produced by Droichead Arts Centre in partnership with Love Drogheda BID, and funded by Louth County Council, Fáilte Ireland's Urban Animation Fund, the Arts Council's In the Open, Faoin Spéir initiative, and the Town & Village Accelerated Measures programme. Additional support came from The Marcy Hotel, Murtagh's of Drogheda, and Drogheda Height for Hire. With Balor's fiery presence now towering above the town, Drogheda has firmly cemented its place as a modern-day capital of Irish myth and urban creativity.

Will Liv Morgan Leave Judgment Day? All You Need to Know About Her Apparent Replacement
Image via WWE Liv Morgan's 2025 has been a mixed bag. On one hand, she successfully captured her 4th Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez after WrestleMania 41 and elevated her status as one of the most prominent performers on the main roster. However, her momentum has come to a big halt owing to her disastrous shoulder injury on the June 16th edition of RAW. In a match against Kairi Sane, the former world champion suffered a nasty fall with her shoulder hitting the mat awkwardly. Morgan immediately rinsed in pain and rolled out of the ring while still holding her shoulder in agony. It was later reported that she had suffered a dislocated shoulder and would require surgery and thus taking her out of action for a couple of months. However, this absence has raised a big question about her place in Judgement Day. But why? Roxanne Perez Can Very Well Be Liv Morgan's Worst Nightmare in the Judgment Day On the June 30th edition of RAW, Roxanne Perez, along with Raquel Rodriguez, held onto the Women's Tag Team titles in the absence of Morgan, with the Judgment Day voting unanimously in her favor. This move saved Rodriguez from being forced to relinquish the belts in the absence of Morgan. Although Dominik Mysterio suggested talking to Morgan about the change but Finn Balor convinced the Intercontinental champion otherwise. Moreover, it was Balor who, along with JD McDonagh, convinced RAW and SmackDown GMs to nod in favor of Perez. This change further planted seeds of Perez permanently taking Morgan's place in the stable. Moreover, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Perez has been a constant help to the stable and has also interfered in matches involving Morgan and Rodriguez. And ever since Mysterio captured the IC title at WrestleMania, Balor has realized that Morgan and Mysterio are now the top dogs of the stable. A position Balor yearned for after banishing Damien Priest. Many expected the Irishman to cost Mysterio the title just like he did to Priest, but instead, he has effectively used Perez as a point of contention between the new stable leaders. When Morgan eventually returns, she will certainly not be happy to find out about being replaced, all thanks to Balor's behind-the-scenes scheming. After all, Morgan is the same woman who, after the departures of Priest and Rhea Ripley, had become the de facto leader of Judgment Day. In storyline, Morgan had forced her way into the faction and ultimately Mysterio's arms, so it's only natural she now fears Roxanne Perez might be doing the same. WWE has been planting seeds for a Morgan face turn for some time, and now the moment feels right. A dramatic split from Judgment Day could launch her into a fresh run as one of WWE's top babyface stars. Judgment Day's Reign Expands as Roxanne Perez Officially Crowned Women's Tag Team Champion
Image via WWE: Finn Balor, Roxanne Perez, JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio, and Raquel Rodriguez The Judgment Day's dominance continued on the June 30 edition of Monday Night Raw, as a long-standing question over the fate of the Women's Tag Team Titles was finally answered, and that too in stunning fashion. WWE announced that Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez have been crowned the new Women's Tag Team Champions, filling the void left by Liv Morgan, who suffered a serious shoulder injury during her match against Kairi Sane on the June 16 episode. Finn Balor and Club Push for Roxanne Perez to Become the New Tag Team Champion The decision didn't come lightly, and it was orchestrated behind the scenes by none other than Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, who had earlier in the night captured the Raw Tag Team Titles by defeating Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Backstage, Balor and McDonagh met with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and Raw GM Adam Pearce. They argued that Raquel Rodriguez had done everything possible to retain the tag titles in Morgan's absence, and stripping her of the belts would be unjust. Instead, they proposed Roxanne Perez, owing to her recent ties to the group and alleged chemistry with Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, as the ideal replacement. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Serbia: New Container Houses (Prices May Surprise You) Container House Search Now Undo After some deliberation, the officials agreed, but with one major condition: the newly crowned champions must defend their titles in a fatal 4-way match at WWE Evolution on July 13 against teams from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. Roxanne Perez becomes Women's Tag Team Champion, joins Judgment Day: Raw highlights, June 30, 2025 Later in the night, the Judgment Day celebrated their growing title collection until Raquel Rodriguez stormed in, clearly unhappy with how things unfolded. She questioned Balor's authority to name her a new partner and emphasized Liv Morgan was in rehab multiple times a week and would return soon. Balor responded with empathy, referencing his own shoulder injury at SummerSlam 2016 that forced him to vacate the Universal Championship just one night after winning it. He reminded Rodriguez that sometimes, business has to move forward. He then proposed a Judgment Day vote on the decision. Balor and McDonagh quickly voted yes. Dominik Mysterio appeared hesitant, suggesting he wanted to speak with Morgan before deciding. But Balor urged him to act independently, and Mysterio reluctantly agreed. Rodriguez, still unsure, finally gave in after some pressure. With that, the vote was unanimous, and Perez was officially crowned champion. This crowning also marks a historic moment: every active member of Judgment Day now holds a title. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Watch Episode 2 here.

Finn Balor Is Looking To Snap A Stunning WWE Streak
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A surprising statistic regarding decorated WWE Raw superstar Finn Balor has come out. Wrestle Ops pointed out that today, June 3, 2025, "marks 1 full year since Finn Balor last won a singles match" on television. The prominent Judgment Day member has gotten only three wins in singles action within the past 2 years. This comes despite his consistent presence in high-profile storylines and tag team championship success. Balor's most recent attempt to secure a significant singles opportunity came just last night on the June 2nd episode of Raw. He competed in a challenging Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match against CM Punk and "El Grande Americano" Chad Gable. CM Punk ultimately won the bout. Throughout 2025, Balor has remained a cornerstone of the heel faction, The Judgment Day, on Monday Night RAW. While his individual singles victories have been scarce, he has reached considerable success in the tag team ranks. He notably held the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships multiple times with fellow Judgment Day member Damian Priest. The group, also featuring Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Liv Morgan, Carlito (before his recent departure), and new recruit Roxanne Perez, continues to be a dominant force on the red brand. PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - APRIL 08: JD McDonagh, Finn Balor, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, WWE Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio standing in ring at the Wells Fargo Center on April 8, 2024 in Philadelphia, news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Balor's WWE career boasts an impressive list of accolades. He made a massive impact in NXT, where he was a two-time NXT Champion, holding the record for the longest combined reign. Upon his main roster debut in 2016, he made history by becoming the first-ever WWE Universal Champion. His resume also includes two reigns as Intercontinental Champion and one as United States Champion, showcasing his versatility and main event caliber. Known for his captivating "Demon" persona, which appears for his biggest matches, Balor has consistently been a top-level performer until the last three years, during which he has lost the majority of his matches. This current drought in televised singles victories is therefore a notable statistic for a superstar of his stature, even as he thrives within The Judgment Day. It will be interesting to see if WWE turns around its winning ways in the near future or if it continues to head down this direction. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
