EastEnders star Gurlaine Kaur Garcha is engaged after her fiance popped the question during a romantic getaway to Ibiza. The soap star, 31, who played Ash Panesar in the long-running BBC show, shared the news with her fans on Instagram on Wednesday. Gurlaine showed off her huge dazzling diamond ring in the snap, were she was sat happily sipping a cocktail during the trip. Alongside the photo, she wrote: 'v happy & v engaged!!!!!!' Gurlaine keeps her partner's identity private and their relationship has blossomed out of the spotlight, but she did confirm the location of the propsal. Her co-stars all sent their well-wishes, with her on-screen mother Balvinder Sopal, who plays Suki Panesar, writing: 'Oh my days!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS BABY.' Gurlaine arrived in Albert Square in 2019 as the first member of the Panesar family to move to Walford, before her mother Suki and brothers joined later. Her character was a no-nonsense doctor and she soon became involved in several hard-hitting storylines. Ash endured family rifts as well as chaotic scenes a the hospital. She was also in a same-sex relationship with Igra.

AN EASTENDERS star has revealed she has got engaged. Actress Gurlaine Kaur Garcha, 31, shared her happy news as she flashed her huge diamond ring after a romantic proposal in Ibiza. 3 3 3 The soap star - who played Ash Panesar on EastEnders for three years - is thrilled to be getting married. Gurlaine revealed her happy news with a sweet post on Instagram. On there she shared a snap of herself on holiday sipping a cocktail. But one thing that really stood out in the picture, was the huge diamond engagement ring on her left hand. Confirming the news that her partner had popped the question, she simply wrote: "v happy & v engaged!!!!!!" Although she has kept the identity of her partner private, she revealed they had proposed in Ibiza. Gurlaine's EastEnders co-stars rushed to congratulate her. While her EastEnders mum Balvinder Sopal posted: "Oh my days!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS BABY" Gurlaine's onscreen brother Shiv Jalota said: "Ahhhhhhhh CONGRATS XX" EastEnders Ash leaves for good as she lands new job BECOMING AN EASTENDERS STAR Gurlaine joined EastEnders in 2019 and was an immediate hit. Bosses introduced the wider Panesar family around her with brothers Kheerat, Vinny and Jags arriving shortly before their mother Suki. Over the years most of the Pansears have left the Square, with Gurlaine's character Ash departing in 2023. It was announced in January that year that the actress would be leaving the BBC One soap. Soap bosses said: "We can confirm that Gurlaine will be leaving EastEnders, and we wish her all of the best for the future." Gurlaine then shared her own statement, and said she was "excited for what's to come." At the time sources claimed she was heading for Hollywood. EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal to guest edit BBC Radio Kent

EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal is to take over the BBC Radio Kent airwaves as guest actress, best known for her role as Suki Panesar-Unwin, will become the latest to take control of the show when she sits in the hot seat on Sopal, who has also featured in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, was born in Chatham and raised in 46-year-old has spent more than two decades on television screens after making her acting debut in 2001. Ms Sopal made numerous appearances in soap operas from 2009 to 2018 before being cast as Suki Panesar in most notable storyline included her on-off affair with Eve Unwin, played by Heather Peace, which won several Sopal is also known for voicing Simran Kaur in the BBC Asian Network radio soap opera Silver is one of a series of guest editors of BBC Radio Kent.
