Grupo Coppel SA, Mexico's largest private retailer, will spend 80 billion pesos ($4.2 billion) over five years on investments including a new e-commerce platform to double the portion of digital transactions to 20% of total sales.
BanCoppel, its banking branch, will use part of the investment to add 3 million customers from the unbanked population, the company said in a statement. Dozens of brick-and-mortar shops will also be added, Coppel said.
